Hey guy's I want to remove the front site block from my rifle. Does anyone know how it is installed on the rifle? Im thinking it is threaded on somehow. I want to make a custom muzzlebrake for the rifle. If anyone can help it will keep me from cutting the barrel and then recrowning ETC. Thanks

How do you plan on keeping the under lever up after you take the sight assemb. off it is part of the sight. also If I remember the sight has a screw going through it just between the under lever assemb. and the sight you take the screw out and push the sleeve out then the sight can just be slipped off. howie

On my TF97 that front plastic piece is simply press swedged fit onto the end of the barrel.  So if you wnat to remove it first remove the globe site held on with that small screw and then press a block of wood on the there and poud it off.  You don't want to do this many times since eventually the press fit would get too loose.  One of the many problems that I had with my tf97 was that that the cocking lever was not tightly held in place.  So I put some foam inside that slot so it biased the lever out further into where it plastic held it in place better.

I've thought about how best hold that arm in place if that plastic piece wears out.  One solution would be to rob a clamp from a B3 which everyone should have a few lying around for miscelaneous spare parts.  

I'm curious to know how your tf97 holds groups.  Mine is very inconsistent.  I think the biggest problem is the seal fit.  Now I'm using a washer that I've ground to fit.  I've tried all kinds of things.  I suspect that there is too much slop between the compression chamber and where the pellet fits that only a very good seal can help.

Thanks for the tip. I plan to take off the entire front site assembly. Then I'm going to machine a muzzle break with a slot milled in it for the cocking lever. I'm going to hold it up in place with a small R/E magnet. The magnetic field wont bother anything and the magnet is strong enough to hold the rod. I'll take pics and post them when I'm done.

Lenny, please post some pictures when you finish your mod  I just bought one and while the rear sight is way off forcing me to adjust all the way to the right (bent or misaligned barrel too?) it shoots very tight groups.  I posted a 10m picture somewhere here or on a Kitchings(?) post.  Diesels like mad and the trigger stinks.  Anybody seen tuning tips on the trigger?  Andy
