Daisy 856 Repair
« on: March 21, 2009, 11:34:53 AM »
I received an older Daisy bb/pellet gun about a year ago which had been somewhat used/abused during it's lifetime.  For the better part of the year it served it's purpose teaching my 2 boys how to shoot with it's iron sights.  Since they have sort of graduated to a springer(s) I've decided to retire the Daisy to the gun locker.  My problem is, she leaks air like a sieve.  You can pump her 8 or 10 times; however, you'd better have taken your shot within about 30 seconds or the air will be gone.

Is there any type of seal kit available to rebuild this poor thing?  I realize she's just a cheapy and I could very easily just toss her out, but I want to retire her with a little bit of respect for what she's taught the kids.

Thanks for any help.

Bob,

I have a very old Daisy 880 that needed a seal kit.  Daisy's customer service gave me Jim Coplen's name as the person to contact about ordering one as he had the parts for guns that they no longer carried.  Everything went smoothly and I got the kit last week.  His phone number is (520) 207-8188.

You could also try contacting Daisy directly as they have a very good reputation for customer service.  The contact information is available at http://daisy.com/feedback.html.  I found them easy to deal with when I called them about the 880 reseal kit.

Cheers,

Bobby
