.....I was just reading about the Natchezss $118 Shadows, stopped by Natchezss to see what all they have around there and ended up ordering a refurbed Gamo220, scope, and rings....I hope you guys are proud of yourselves, now what am I going to tell my wife?  Geez, some friends you are...................sheesh!

Before long y'all will be calling me "Gene" and having me pose for pictures with "Fritz" the dog..........I hope you're happy!

It's ok, she knew I was gonna do it.  I had my 1 week without smoking anniversary today...not a puff!

Get both.  When the second one arrives, tell your wife that you got it for her so that you both can enjoy a hobby together. I know, I know, but it worked with my wife when I was torn between getting a Shadow and 890S.  I actually had her pick it out.  I said, which one do you think is better, she picked the 890S, so I got both and told her that I got the 890S for her.  She seemed happy and never gave me any trouble over it.  One caveat to this story, she may actually like shooting and ask you to get her another one as I recently did for Christmas....a Cabelas Outfitters Thumbhole stock AR....He He He

The stock's not as nice as the 440, of course... but frankly I think the 220/Shadow rear sight is superior to the "better" one on the 440.

Another thing - the 220 has a shorter pull than the Shadow or 440 - it's easier for those of lesser build to shoot. Like wives. Dunno if this'll help or not...

The $80 refurb 220 is a heckuva deal. When I purchased mine, I also got a free Gamo soft case. Helped make up for the fact that I had to send the rifle back for warranty service - TWICE.

Cool, they didn't give me a free hardcase in the deal, so I'm hoping I wont have to send mine back at all:)
