that is a Crosman 2300 Custom with a 14" barrel, a 2260 trigger group, a cut down/reshaped/resculpted 2260 stock, Crooked Barn Ultimate Breach, Arts Shack steel bolt and handle.  It is as loud as a stock 2300/2240 with a 14" barrel, the shroud on the barrel is just for looks, it's an empty tube, no baffles.  I have never chronied it since it is a backyard paper puncher I built for my wife for Christmas, but I would guess maybe mid 500 fps range?

I have plans to do a QB78 here in the near future.  I have the QB78 which has been mechanically modded, I just can't stand the stock.  I have another stock for my pistol gripped 2260 to finish before I can even think about tearing into another one....I must have 3 apart on my bench right now, that would be a good picture...hehe.

Well the Crosman 22XX guns are very easily adaptable for any size between the 2240 pistol and the 2260 long gun, most of it is even doable with just stock parts you can order from Crosman.  It's a nice and easy platform to work on, not many parts, and a ton of mods.  You can find alot of cool stuff over on the Crosman Gate about these, as well as the pumper Crosmans like the 1377...if you don't mind pumping.  CO2 can be a bit louder than the pumps and spring guns though, and the noise level usually goes up with the power.  If you're looking for a good powerful truck gun though, you might want to just look at a stock QB78 tuned by Mike Melick.  For $125 shipped you wont find a better deal.  His guns shoot up around the 700FPS mark in .22, that's pretty hard hitting for CO2, and the stock QB78 is a pretty lightweight easy to keep in a truck kind of gun.
here's his website, and if you have any questions just ask him, he's one of the good guys and great to work with.

Here's my two and what that little blue gun looked like as a pistol.  The top one was tuned by Mike, the bottom one I tuned....his is a much nicer shooter:

Good luck!

I just ordered one of Mikes AR2078s in .177 and noticed your shroud.  Is that the one on the Crosman forum?  If so how well does it help with sound?  I am planning on shooting in my basement.  Thanks

Hollow piece of aluminum tubing, for looks, loud like as if it had no shroud.  I think the one I had posted on the Crosman forum is the one on my wifes 2360, same thing, different gun, just as loud as without.
if you read this post it will describe it perfectly.

Welp, I would ove to say that she has been shooting it alot, but it's below freezing here, so no-one is doing much shooting at all:)  I haven't done any shooting in a week or two either.  Between neck/back injuries and the snow/ice/freezing I haven't even made it out to my garage except for a half hour here and there.  You guys and the forum here are my link to the outside world, or at least the airgunning outside world:)

SD...yuppems, cold up there for sure.  Was it you I was telling that my mom is from Britton(sp?).  Anyways, she's from the cold north too, but now lives just south of San Francisco.  I'm from just south of San Francisco, but I live down here in Fort Worth...hehe, funny to me at least:)  I guess it's not that odd though, Mark Twain once wrote tha the coldest winter he had ever spent anywhere was a summer in San Francisco.  It doesn't snow there really, but that coastal breeze tied together with the coastal fog and you might wish you had a nice snow bank to block the wind.  I honestly don't mind this weather at all, just more of a reason to sit around and surf the web.  I am missing my garage alot though, and now that I've quit smoking I have nothing forcing me to go out there in the cold:(  15 days today!
