Gamo Whisper
« on: March 27, 2009, 09:52:06 AM »
Just purchased a Whisper upon reading all had to say about it. Only fired about 80 shots so far, but got it scoped at 25 yds. (I live in a neighborhood) and put 3 squirrels into permanent retirement already. If they didn't jump on the bird feeders, I would have looked the other way, as they have their own feeder, but they eat the bird's food first, and then theirs. This cannot be. The gun shoots fine, and just shooting from inside my shed to squelch any noise works fine to zero it in on target. Some brands of ammo work better than others, jury's still out on that one. From my secret garage window: yea, shall the varmints walk through the valley of death. Nice weight, handling, good looking, I may just change that trigger to a GRT 3. Great website, all comments were helpful.

Congrats on the new Whisper,, sounds like you've got in dialed in to deadly accuracy :)

For hunting get yourself some JSB Predators and try em.   They are my primary hunting pellet (provided the gun likes them).  If your whisper likes em you won't find a better hunting pellet anywhere.....

If you think the Whisper is accurate now.....install a GRT III trigger and your jaw would drop down with your first shot!!!!!  I held off buying the trigger(s) until one of my air rifles broke (Crosman Sierra Pro).......I had to open her up and install a new spring.....that's when I ordered 5 GRT III triggers and installed them all at the same time.  The guns with the triggers are even more accurate due to the smooth crisp action of the triggers.

Congrats on you new purchase and shooting.  Hope you took some photos of the nutters and/or the nutters with your new Whisper.....and post them in the "Hunting Gate"...we all luv photos.  Before we forget....a BIG WELCOME to the GTA forum and family.

Congrats - not surprised you like it. Crosman Premier hollow points seem work just fine in my Whisper.
