It's about midnight 30 right now and after two and a half hours of machining new spring guides, fitting a tesla seal, fitting buttons, crowning the barrel, etcetera etcetera.... I'm finally DONE!
Results are GOOD. Well, mostly. Firing behavor is still the same with slightly more recoil. Power is WAY up! Didn't chrony it, but I did a before/after penetration test in 3/4" ply wood and Crosman premier domes from 10 feet. Before tune, the pellet would lodge in the plywood with the skirt just a hair proud of the board. After tune, Penetration depth was a little over 1/4 inch. Call it 5/16" . My B30 does that and it's doing mid 800's with the same pellet!
The only problem is that toward the end of the cocking stroke, it feels like the piston skirt is contacting the spring a bit giving it a liiiiiiiiitle crunch. No problem though! I'll pull it back apart tomorrow and bevel the inlet to the piston skirt a tad to slide over the spring a bit better.
But all in all... I'm a happy camper!
