My Spring Compressor
« on: April 05, 2009, 03:57:15 AM »
I decided to make my own wooden spring compressor based on Gene's design. I modified some of the parts to cater specifically for my Gamo Big Cat.

Thanks Gene for the inspiration! :)

Here are the pics:

Hey Willie.... that looks good and should hold up well. May need a few mods later as you start working on other guns but a great starter.

Thanks Charlie. I believe the original design was from yours and later modified too by Gene.

Pardon me for asking this Charlie (because I think it should be asked on the Gamo Gate) but "would you be kind enough to offer some good advice on what do I have to look carefully into when I tune my Gamo Big Cat?" I already ordered the piston spring and seal replacement plus the heavy tar and moly paste. I am studying cautiously your B19 tuning guide and I am at lost on some of the methodologies in there (Sorry, I'm more of an electronic guy than a machinist) like deburring and stuff. Any info that you could share to a newbie like me would be most welcome.

Looking real good there Willie. I have had to alter my compressor several times to facilitate sevral length and shaped springers. That is a good start and solid fondation there.

Best of luck.
