...just pull the trigger! It'll uncock REAL FAST!!!

Seriously, if it's like the Gamo breakbarrels (and I believe it is), there's a sliding arm that blocks the trigger when the lever is down. It is possible to remove the arm and the gun will cock and shoot normally - but you could then de-cock it. You could also injure yourself or severely damage the gun if you fire it with the lever down! But you probably already knew that.

Vince is correct in what he said. I certainly don't recommend it but by simply removing the link and retracting spring and reinstalling the e-clip you can make it decockable. But be very aware of the fact that if you accidently pull the trigger before the barrel is in the battery position, or closed, it will fly up and can very easily cause serious injury. It is pretty easy for the stock to break at the pistol grip if it happens, especially in the wooden stock. I've had a number of requests to do it but rarely do. It is a sometimes advantagious to a person that uses it strictly for hunting and/or not used by an immature person or knowledgeable person.

...but when I find out that a rifle I just bought IS de-cockable (AR1000, S1, B20), I find that I really appreciate this feature. And I never barrel slammed one of these by accident.

Yet I find it hard to remove that arm on my Gamo's - something keeps telling me not to do it. Don't know if it's the lack of an automatic safety or what, but the one time I removed it something kept nagging at me until I put it back on...

Well Dano, it seems we have gottin off the track here:) You asked about Springs and guides.. lol.. That is something that I know nuthing about, but second had information tells me to stay away from Chinese sprngs..:) I think I have read through Rich's posts or Vince's post that Crosman springs you can replace Gamo springs with. But since the Crosman springs are Chinese made I would not use them. To each his own.
For my experience with Turbo Tunes with CDT, he only uses Macari Springs in my Gamo's. Not had a bad on yet and I shoot allot. Also  CDT makes his own custom guides and thingys which have held up for me since my first turbo tune. I don't know tha name of the materials he uses. Mabybe it is top secret. I don't know for sure...:) But he seems to know quite abit about what works and what does not work because as he explained to me he has tried hundreds of different materials until he got it down to a nats A__s....:)

But anyway, I think CDT could give you more direct answer to your questions and maybe the library might shed some lite on the subject. He has donated quite a few articles..

Maybe CDT will chime in on this once again...hehe

Hehe, no problem with the highjack.  But "paper" on this bulliten board is free, don't ever worry about wasting any on what you may think is a "stupid question".  Would rather hear a stupid question than to read a post about a guy who tried to uncock his air rifle and knocked out all of his teeth because he was afraid to ask a "stupid question".    I'm glad I found forums like this before I ever tried to take apart my first air rifle or I may have ended up with a spring in my chin instead of a overbuilt spring compressor:)

take care,

Dan

None of the above.  Theoben gas ram in my CFX.  I know you know, but it just looks cool written down :-)!  Previously, JM Tarantula spring courtesy of CDT, along with whatever magic Bob does to guides.  I'm pretty sure the tophat was stock.  Was working really well until the spring collapsed, then it dumped almost 200 fps instantly.  Any more questions, Cheif?
