Gene:
The liberal left have called us extremists for some time now. The frightening change is now that now, an organ of the State, the Dept. of Homeland Security, is making it "official".
While I love my country, I fear my government. Maybe it is only fitting that the government is beginning to fear the people. But there is absolutely no substance, no evidence, no data, and no foundation to the "charges" made in that document. Only innuendo and stereotyping -- we have heard it all before. Conservatives who believe our Constitution is a valid and enduring, not a "living document subject to the interpretation of activist judges and now, international courts of law = right wing extremism = Un-American, racists, bigots, homophobes, anarchists, disgruntled soldiers and gun nuts who pose the danger to our "country". The danger posed, it seems to me, is to those in and ever expanding, ever intrusive federal government intent on usurping individual citizen's wealth, personal property, freedoms, and God-given rights.
I notice that when the DHS was founded and used, as originally intended, as a mechanism to fight foreign terrorists, there was a great hue and cry from the liberals about the evil George Bush and his Fascist ways, but when Obama is in office, the DHS can now get down to it's real business without too much comment: rooting out right wing extremists with bumper stickers for Ron Paul, those oppose abortion on demand, who believe the right of freedom of speech and the right to bear arms are in our Constutution's Bill of Rights for a very good reason, etc.
