DAMN WIND !!!
« on: April 25, 2009, 11:42:10 AM »
finaly got out to the range today with my MM tuned B26 with 30plus mph winds so much for group and pellet testing ....i just couldn't put a 5 shot group together for nothing ..

this was my best group today at 25 yards ..

i could get 3 same holes but just couldn't get 5 same hole groups ....i blame it on the wind cause this little gun has been shooting well at home on spinners and starlings  ...

my R9 .20 cal.
which didn't do any better in the wind ..

i just wanted to show case the B26 with groups and and different pellet's better than i did with the wind it was just pointless ....i will pick a better day next time for some testing ..

At that distance in those winds, that's good shootin' Tex.  I don't care who ya are!
I'm still trying to get those groups with my MM .177 in no wind but I think it's still breaking in.

What Hawke scope(model and power) and what rings( brand and height) you got in the pic?

I second that on this damn Colorado wind!

WASUP BUDDIE ? :)

both guns pictured have hawke scopes ..the B26 has the 4x12x40 airmax with beeman med high rings ..
the R9 has the hawke 6x24x44 varmintII with the med high leapers rings ..the varmint II was for the B26 but i couldn't wait for the varmint II to come in so i took the airmax off the R9 to scope the B26 ..to be honest the B26 is much smoother than the stock R9 . the R9 is twangy but it don't seem to affect overall accuracy....

pellet's to try:
so far i found the beeman fts to shoot good ,rws super domes, jsb exact's ,beeman kodiaks some cheaper pellet's i found to do ok with some flyers are crosman premier hollow points ..

Looks like you got those set up for some serious work!

I can't tell by the angle of your pics, would Butler Creek caps fit on the B26?
What reticle does the 4-12 have and how do you like the optics in it?

Those Hawkes have large eye bells so I'm guessing they give a bright sight picture?
Thinking serious about one for my 10/22.  :)

looks like the scope caps wouldn't fit but I keep my hardware in the case most of the time when not in use anyway.  You've got a 40 mm objective, I have the 32 mm.
Thanks for the close-up!
