Scope rail adapter question
« on: April 26, 2009, 02:33:36 PM »
To compensate for the barrel droop on my Ruger Air Hawk.

I ordered a DNO34 Scope rail adapter from Pyramyd Air for my Ruger but I think I have made a mistake.  My rifle does not have the 11mm scope rail that the RWS Diana 34 rifle has.  It just has the two grooves milled into the top of the reciever and that's where the scope rings clamp onto.

I thought the two rifles were the same. After closer examination I think they are different.

So... my question is ......will this adapter work on my rifle or should I have ordered something else?  I need to know something quick so can change my order if I have to.

Thanks!

I just went and measured the dovetail grooves on my AirHawk and they're measuring 11mm dovetail just like the Diana. I can't see why it wouldn't work.

well ok I'll just wait and see if it works when I receive it.  May be I'll call them in the morning and see what Pyramyd says.

Thanks for the reply!

It won't fit. It is designed to fit on the RAISED rail of the Diana not the grooved body of the Air Hawk. The adapter has a lip that fits over the end of the Diana rail.

JimL911.......you are right. I talked to them Monday and they confirmed what you said. However they also said that if I would mill off the lip on the adaptor it should fit on the milled 11mm grooves of the gun.  They said they could do it for an extra charge. I told them to go ahead and send it to me and I would take care of it.  I have a milling machine so I can do it myself.

They don't offer any other adaptor that will compensate for the droop on the Ruger Air Hawk other than this one.

I'll let you know how I come out
