« on: January 21, 2007, 04:19:55 AM »
Got this guy with my Gamo Delta (aka Daisy 1150)  this gun chronos at 525fps with Gamo Match Pellets.  Worked great at the 20yd distance for this shot.

Thanks guys, that is the first crow I shot since I was a kid, (about 50 years ago).  I have a few airguns, but that Gamo ( Daisy)  is always by the door and gets all the action.

Check it out...
It may not look big, but that QB is longer than a CFX.

LOL, no, most of the crows here look like that, and that one is about medium sized.

Btw, we did a bit of a polish and lube job on that QB last night... all I can say is WOW.
Can't wait toput it over the chrony, but I bet it's over 950 ft/s with Gamo pellets.

They really are extremely intelligent birds, also extremely wary with good eye sight.  Best way to lure em in is to plant a fake owl on a tall pole, or high in a tree where it can be seen and start calling with a crow call.  Crows hate owls and will attack them any chance they get, often calling in their friends to help.

I get crows hanging out in my trees whenever I have a deer, or other game, hanging outside on my game pole when I'm aging the meat.  Seems like within hours of hanging a deer they show up.  Of course they exit fast when I stick my face outside.
