I bought one of these about a month ago and I don't know if I got lucky or not but the rifle I got looked brand new and shoots great.  I made it into my truck gun and it's been deadly on starlings and a couple of other critters as well.  Mine also seems to be shooting much harder than the advertised 800 FPS and the accuracy is fantastic.    

If you use one of the $10 off coupons available you can get the rifle for $45 bucks including shipping, that's what I did.    

Anyway, just thought I'd list it in case anyone is interested....

Oh yeah, forgot to add,,,, the picture of the rifle they show IS NOT the Winchester 800.  For some reason they have the pic of the Winchester 1000 in the add.  If you wanna see a pic of the 800 just look up the rifle on Pyramydair or some other site.

Sport'sMan Guide does not ship airguns to about half the
country. Have you seen their "restricted" list? That's the bad news.

If you happen to live in the most favored status states, they have
great deals on a lot of airguns.

That's a shame. I bought three of them and two of the three are small one hole guns at 10m. For the money, they were hard to beat.

That's how I feel about the one I bought.... it's amazingly accurate and extremely powerful.  What really surprised me was the trigger on mine is actually pretty decent.  I hope they get some more of them, they are great shooters for the price they're sellin em at....

While the backorder for the 800x was canceled and they stated your credit card wouldn't be charged mine was. They DID refund my money-- but not all of it. I originally paid around $64 for the gun ( $49.97 + shipping, etc ). I was refunded $49.97-- not the $11 + $.99 for package protection. I called back and was told that their system was messed up and had a problem with refunding the shipping when it did automatic refunds. They told me they will refund the difference ASAP. Please check your accounts and call them if necessary.

I've dealt with their customer service a couple of times and they've always been good to deal with.  I'm sure they'll make it right but it's a good thing you let us know just in case they did the same thing to anyone else who ordered one......

Did the same thing to me.... I sent them an email about it. They should respond, if not, will call them. What gets me is they said it would not be charged, then I get the short refund.... I used one of my Ten Dollar coupons,,, I want that back.... Frank

Hi Frank, good luck with your refund. Be careful about your coupon codes. I acidentally used the same coupon twice and then my order was denied due to the coupon error. I called customer service but when the order was finally fixed the item was no longer in stock. Also, when you buy an item, they enclose a $10 coupon. These coupons can be used twice I believe. However, if you have made several orders in the same month you will recieve the same code all month. So even if you have more than two coupons with the same code, you can only use the code twice. Anyway, I am a big fan of the guide but they do need to get a few things straightened out. They stopped sending me internet deal emails two months ago and after three emails and two calls, I am still not receiving the sale emails. Oh well.
