One place you can get a muzzle brake is Archer Air. I'm almost positive the barrel size is 15mm. I do know for sure that the barrel sizes of the QB78 and QB78 Deluxe are not the same. If you go to Archer and look around at the QB family parts it will answer a lot of your questions.

If you are going to mod your QB it is going to be really loud and regular muzzle breaks are just for looks and you need something like this >>  http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=16283&posts=5&start=1

Well Im an idiot. An idiot with a QB78d that dont have a 15mm barrel. I didnt measure it. I just saw this post, and took the 15mm as the size. Well mine is not 15mm exactly. Its 15.5mm.
So now I have to try to bore the brake I turned today without marring the finished surface, or turn a new one. I shoud have measured it. Its 15mm on the breech end though. Live and learn. Maybe I should turn the barrel and recrown instead.

15mm, check around lots of guys making them including metalmanmatt in the thread below.

Also you can buy the RWS muzzle break at Pyramyd.  It is 15mm but it has holes.  I have one that I used some cf vinyl wrap on.  Got a spring from the hardware store, wrapped in steel wool and stuffed the break.  Very efficient.  Only think I don't like is the finish is a bit wavy because of the holes under the cf and the overall diameter is bigger than other moderators I have for my QBs.

I also made one for about $7 worth of plumbing parts at Home Depot.  It also works well but you'll have to do the work.

Matt,

You should always make them nominally .5mm larger or you won't get them on.  You should also use two set screws not one.  That allows some minor centering.  Tap and use hex head cup screws you can get 2 for $0.50 at HDepot.  I've seen some guys making them use a standard pan head screw.  If you're going to invest your time might as well take the craftsmanship the whole way.  Also, if flush you can wrap in CF vinyl for a very nice finish.  You can get the CF on ebay cheap.  Search CF vinyl.

I made these from 1/2 inch conduit. With a grinder/ wire wheel, a hand file, 2 set screws, a 10-24 tap and drill, and a can of paint. I have never posted any pictures before and I tried to cut and paste but this site won't let me. I see a check box that says attach a file after posting so I'm going to try that. If my pix don't show up could someone teach me how to post pix?

i dont know y yours is 15.5 was your barrel changed before cause everyone i know with the qb78d .177 or.22 is 15mm and the qb78 .177 .22 is 14mm the brake from tko comes with two set screws that fits perfect and doesnt change the fps or accuratcy it keeps it very friendly ,
