1st Teardown
« on: May 08, 2009, 10:05:31 AM »
Hello all. I am in the midst of my 1st teardown of my SS1K due to spring breakage. I compressed and got the broken spring and cylinder guts out. My question is what is the best way to take out the trigger assy. so I can get the piston out for Seal replacement. It looks like I have to give the assy. a twist to get the tangs out of the chamber. What linkage or pin should I go for to free it up for movement. I can get the cocking tang out alright , I don't really want to dissassemble the trigger unless I have to. Thanks,    John

I've never taken out a Gamo trigger assembly......but when I installed the GRT III triggers in my Crosmans and Gamos....their innard look the same.  I replaced a spring in one of my Crosmans....and I had to remove the trig assembly.  Once the spring came out....I just lightly wiggled, lightly twisted and tilted the assembly until I could take it out.  I found that if I used force....it was almost no way that it'll come out.  I believe you don't need to dis-assemble the trigger assembly to remove it.  Hope this helps.

The trigger assembly is very easy to remove.  You should use a flex tie to hold the sear down then all you have to do is remove the screw at the rear of the trigger assembly and then pull / wiggle the entire assembly rearward  until it slides out.  Here's a pic to help ya out......

no pic jeff. i have never removed my trigger from my crosman, but i think there is a screw on the side that releases the whole assembly. but im not 100% sure.

Thanks for the pic. I used the tie to keep it all together when I finally wiggled it out. I had to take a c clip off a pin , disengage a spring , and remove a slotted linkage to get enough side movement to get the trigger assy out. Is the linkage the "bear trap" preventer? I am still getting used to the nomenclature names. Any way, I got the piston out and all looks good., no tears gouges or anthing that looks questionable. Now I order the spring and lubes. I sure hope it goes together well. I'd have more done by now but but I'm still Blessed with a job and sometimes it gets in the way(thank goodness). Thanks for all the help guys............John
