CONGRATULATIONS to the Membership.
« on: January 24, 2007, 01:53:31 AM »

Well gang…we have hit the 500 mark…

Yep, we have reached the 500 registered membership mark. **Thank you Tailo88**. Not bad when you think about the ones from another forum that tried to bury us and said we would be out in a matter of a couple of weeks. Well I gotta tell ya, they tried real hard and the first couple of months were tough on both Gene and I (I was fighting a battle on two fronts) yet we kept the faith. But ya see, we knew you guys (and gals) were coming.

We want to thank each and every member for your support and participation in the GTA no matter how much or how little. You people are the ones that have made it what it is…..a great place for good people in the airgun community to meet and greet and share. As our motto says, “By the members for the members”. Ain’tthis a great place to be??? :)

It was a long up hill struggle initially but Gene and I, although frustrated at times, never gave up and the end result was continuous growth and we continue to grow every day. And most notable forums came to us with full support and we thank them also. Although we are a small forum, we are a forum that is now recognized around the world.

When Gene and I were discussing this endeavor, we decided that once we brought it on line, the membership would be the determining factor of what the GTA would become, that the membership would be the ones that would shape the forumin the future because the success of it would depend on them. That’s you. What a great concept and how “By the members for the members” came to be.

We have a great membership and any rifts that do pop up occasionally are very short lived and are usually nothing more than a matter of differences of opinion than anything else. We do not have any (and will not allow any) defamation of character in our little corner of the airgun community. But you know what’s really great about that…. We seem to have little or no animosity among ourselves. Ain’t this a great place to be??? :)

I would also like to point out that your forum will never be a commercialized forum that some forums have turned into. When you open the GTA forum, will never be faced with a screen full of advertisements and store front logos stacked all over the page or banners flying in your face selling everything from T-Shirts to gun supplies. You will never find when you open a post, a bunch of popup advertising. On our forum, there is a place dedicated to all that kind of information and much more and it’s called “The Mall”. It’s all on one page for you to look at if you wish. Our forum is dedicated to our forum members, not to other outside interests and we will not subject you to it. Ain’t this a great place to be??? :)

Although we have several people, myself included, that market their services and/or wares, it is for the most part pretty much self controlled and the guys are good about it and careful not to let it become excessive on the different forum gates and if they have services or wares to market, they know where it goes so rarely do we need to move anything to the classified.

There are other factors too, and they all contribute to the whole of your forum. It’s you, the membership, that has made it the success and what it is today and you are to be commended for your participation and contributions, your suggestions, and most of all, your enthusiasm in your forum. “By the members for the members”

Once again, Gene and I as well as your fellow members want to thank each of you for your sharing in making the GTA what it has become and looking forward to our continued growth in the future. :D

Oh...and I almost forgot...Gene is taking us all out to lunch.:0 Ain't Gene's a great place to be..:p

Yes, the members make this forum what it is, but I you guys weren't so dedicated to just exactly that happening, it wouldn't.  Time and again, you and Gene have yeilded to the memberships opinion on issues, despite personal feelings to the contrary.  Or explained your reasons for doing things, instead of just proceeding on the "as forum owner, my way, my rules".  There's a reason this is "home" for me, and everything else just gets a quick cruise.  So thanks, guys, and keep up the good work.  And yes, this is a great place to be!
