Its not complete but in the works.
Went to Lowes, picked up a nice soft pine 2x6x8.
I cut the stock out to desired length and spent the rest of the day
drilling and setting the action into the wood. I have a perfect snug fit.
The template is somewhat drawn out and thumbhole started.
Please over look how square it looks, I have a lot of rounding
carving and sanding to do.
I almost forgot, I am doing more of a pistol grip, thumbhole style stock.
My desire was for the disco to be setup like a B51 thumbhole stock. The disco forearm
was just way to short and with my riser and full barrel shroud it looked very awkward.
I now have the action set deeper into the wood. This give the rifle a more natural look.
I extended the forearm out to within 4 inches of the reservoir's end. I will either round
the end of the forearm, slant it in, or slant it out. I have not decided yet. I will have to
wait and see how the project is coming when I get to that part to see what would look
the best.
Once I have the stock the way I want it, I will probably use some marineX to form the
finishing touches. I will stipple it, and then It will be bed lined.
I said I wasn't going to post this but why not. Someone should be able to at least
get a good chuckle out of it.
