I Installed My NEW GRT-III Trigger and it's OUTSTANDING
« on: January 25, 2007, 05:45:40 AM »
:D Hello everyone, I am a NEWBEE hear and I would like to say HELLO to everyone. I have been shooting airguns since I was four years old, and have enjoyed shooting ever since. I came upon your GREAT FORUM while looking through the NET, hoping to find a trigger or a why to fix my GAMO 890S trigger, the worst trigger that I have ever paid for!

I received my GRT-III trigger and could not wait to see if, and  if so, how much it could help my Gamo 890S. Well I started by reading  the instructions a few times, and went to work the next day. All went all to smothly, so I became worried, and I could not understand how this replacement trigger was going to help my airgun.
After looking over the action for ten minutes, and not understanding how  the new GRT-III was going to help my gun, I desided to stop looking, and just follow the instructions to the end, and try it ?

Well, I could not believe the improvement, and at first thought it might be a fluke, after all my GAMO's trigger felt great, ounce every hundred shots or so, so I loaded another cleaning pellet, and it felt great!. Well, after a dozen shots, I was a believer, crisp clean sear brakes, and as  smooth as glass, just a small amount of over travel, I was in heaven.

So often, we try new and improved products, and are lucky if they work at all.
Well this is the GREAT EXCEPTION, and Bob is outstanding, for designing this solution to an unbelievable problem, with one small trigger !

All I can say is, IT"S GREAT ! BoB turned my Red Rider into a controllable, enjoyable, and enjoyable to shoot air rifle.
THANKS BOB, IT IS GOLDEN ! :D

Welcome Bill,
It's funny, I found myself in the same situation as you.  I thought the same thing when I purchased my first GRT III trigger and was pleasantly surprised...literally, my first shot caught me by complete surprise!  I was so used a crummy trigger, the smoothness of the GRT was something I had to get used to...didn't take long :D   You'll find a lot of knowledgable and experienced airgunners here and are very willing to help out with advice.  There is one downside to this though, and you'll probably see it soon enough, that is, you will be infected with the "wantanotherairgun virus" which can posibly cause problems with spouses (or significant others) as well as bank accounts....LOL
Welcome aboard! :D

Well actually guys I think I can top you all.........

I don't even own a Gamo,.....but I had a club member come to me wishing to install one on our recommendation. I organised contact through Bob's NZ agent, delivery and sat with the owner explained the install and handed the instructions to him with the trigger in the bag and departed from the eager to start owner of the shadow.

24 hours later got a call.........I need help, I think I took too many bit out of the trigger!

I turned up that evening at this club members house and saw lain out randomly on the table the entire trigger group, sears pins, springs, trigger, pins, clips.........the lot. I thought OH CRAP!

he had sheepishly said to me before I left with the collected items and his gun that he had never been good at reading instructions. (well that an understatement)

So there I am with exploded view trigger group in real time.........never even seen a Gamo trigger up close let alone rebuilt one before, and the shiny gold trigger and allen key still in its plastic bag laid out. I searched around the various places and friends that have installed the GRT III and none had been this brave. However I managed to get sent a CDT file from someone entitled "IF ANY OF YOU DECIDED TO GET BRAVE".......Thanks Bob for making that grahpic available, it saved this shadow owners bacon as I was able to quickly reassemble the trigger group, install back on the gun and then the easiest bit of the job, installing the GRT III.

So......moral of the story............you do not even have to own a Gamo to appreciate the fine trigger that is the CDT GRT III trigger.

regards from New Zealand
