Hi Carlos. The last time I checked this particular B-3 .177 was pushing lead out at around 680 fps. Some of the other members have had real good luck getting them up around 700 fps plus. They are a great mod or project air rifle to work on. A bit rough but fun..:) Thanks for asking. How is yours turning out?

Hi Gene, thanks for take some time to respond, at this moment im just are a backyard plinker, i forget comment that i have  a TF-99 .22 too, and make the same job in the piston, it have the same power plant that a B3 in fact the inner diameter of the cilider its the same than a B3, these guns are really awesome in accuracy, and in case of the TF-99 the power than could make, im just figuring that the speed of my TF surpassed 900 fps with high grain pellets.

Gene & Carlos -

The piston seal mod looks great!  What type and size of seals are you using?  Is the button you're using to hold the seal something you've machined yourself, or did you purchase it?  I have a couple of B3s that I'd like to convert from leather seals.

Thanks for the help.

On my mod Paul, I used a 1" JM seal and made the adapter for it on my lathe.

The seal is made from high density siliconed polyurethane, and her measures are  in milimetesr, in my case was outer bore of 25 mm, inner bore of 15 mm and thicknes of 8 mm, the adaptor to hold the seal was made from a piece of aluminum in a machine shop, i purchase the seal in a store of pneuma hardware if you are in the USA you can use a seal with outter bore of an inch with no problem, the piece behind the seal is a spacer that i made from a pvc pipe in order to expan the seal when i tighthen the front bold, the job in fact its not hard to do, just find the right way. ah sorry for my English im from Venezuela hehehehe.

Spring preload On the B3?
« Reply #24 on: May 17, 2009, 11:35:35 AM »
What kind of situation is unloading the spring on this rifle?  I've searched, but perhaps my search terms are not hitting the threads.

Any info on needing a spring compressor or not.

Thanks!

.22 cal B3?

Where does one find a .22 cal version of the B3? I have a B4 in .22 but would someday like to add a .22 B3.

dave,..i may be mistaken on the nomenclature,......the box is marked b3-2 4.5/5.5mm. its definitely .22 caliber. i picked up a pair of these locally, on craigslist. the seller has several more available if your interested..........

Where can the breech seals be bought for one of these? Can a regular O-ring of the correct diameter be used?

  Thanks, Jon

Jon -

There's a QF-2 cleaning kit that's sold by South Summit (among others).  Cost is $8 - includes cleaning rod and tips, & oil (most consider these junk).  Kit also includes spare trigger sear and spring, mainspring, a couple of breech seals and a synthetic chamber seal.

Others have also used a short section of fuel hose for a breech seal.  I'm note sure of the size - perhaps others will chime in.

I use a compressor on  all my guns.  Better safe than sorry. Plenty of ideas for cheap models exist, including the Library section of this site.
