OK, Here is another feeler! RWS 460 in .177
« on: May 13, 2009, 09:23:09 AM »
I've leaning toward selling my RWS Diana 460 in .177 and want to see if there is any interest.  Wood and metal are about a 8.5-9 out of 10.  This is a "Refurb" so it does have the "R" stamped on the receiver and stock.  Nice crisp adjustable trigger with short smooth firing cycle. This is a very powerful gun.  I have not had any mechanical problems. Reason I am selling it is that this is too much gun for me and to get a less powerful rifle.  I have both the RWS Lock Down Mount and the Leapers mount with Accushot 1" medium high rings.  I am asking $ 250 plus shipping for gun and mounts. Refurb 460s sell for $315 from Umarex without the mounts.

Welcome to the forum! You'll really enjoy it here. Great people and they are generous with their knowledge about air guns. Sorry, no pictures but I will direct you to where you can see pictures of a 460 like mine.  On the left hand side of the page, you will see a search button. Click it and on the next page, in the left hand box - select classifieds. For key words, use RWS Diana 460.  Then down below, set search posts made in the last year. Then hit Go. Your should get 4 results. Select the ad that is entitled - For Sale: Diana (RWS) 460 177 cal.. My rifle looks just like this one other than the "R" stamped in the stock and receiver.  Please note that the price this guy wanted for his rifle was a unbelievable steal.  Wish I could have seen this ad when I was in the market for my gun. Still, I feel that my deal is not too bad.  I have two kinds of mounts, so all you will have to do is get a scope.

I just thought of something.  Did you ask to see pictures of my rifle because you didn't know what a 460 looked like or did you want the pictures to verify that I indeed have the gun?  If you wish verification of possession, I will try to see if I can take some for you.

Hi again, I know the RWS/Diana 460, I ask for pictures to verify the condition of the gun, is it stock or tuned? any mods?

After I thought about you asking for pictures, I said I bet he wants to see my gun. Duh! Well, I will try to take some pictures today and email them to you if you wish. My gun does not have any mods but as far as tunes, I don't know.  When you take the action from the stock and look in the cocking slot, you see heavy tar or grease on the main spring. The experienced air gunner who tried my gun out for me said that the trigger was real smooth maybe like it had been worked on. There are washers added to the cocking lever to take up side to side slack. So whether it has been tuned, I don't know but it is a pretty safe bet that it didn't come from the factory or Umarex that way. I would rather communicate by phone or email than through the forum - a little easier.  My phone # is 256-725-3337 or cell 256-426-8060. My mail is Traolach@nehp.net.

In case anyone else wants to see pictures of my 460, here they are althought you can't really tell much.  The wood and metal are definitely a 9 out of 10 - I've kept good care of this gun.
