Hey Terry, for your information the merlin XL spring is a lighter spring than the Gamo's original spring. When the Gamo 440 .177 or any of the same powerplants are tuned using the merlin xl spring you will get a complete overall lighter cocking and shooting cycle. Your fps will be lower and in the high 700's to low 800 fps. I just completed the tune on a new Gamo 440 of my own using the merlin xl spring and the results were great.
