You can always try the lower link mod . It cost nothing but a little time . You have not oiled the hammer my chance have you .Marvin

I wish I could answer your question . Did the rifle do this when it was new and untouched ? If not try it with the stock trigger again . If it does not do it then leave it alone or try the sear from Ed . If  it drags try a new hammer .Marvin

Do you have the trigger overtravel screw adjusted in too tight?  If so that can make the sear drag.  Back the trigger overtravel screw off a half turn or so and see if it helps.  I have the TKO trigger kit installed in my Disco and have been very happy with it, but it is possible to over adjust it till the gun gets squirly.

The sear drag is in my opinion a side effect to ANY attempt to make the trigger better. In order to avoid it Crosman made that trigger 6lbs of pull with a lot of overtravel. When you pull it hard the sear goes further in, so they made you pull it hard! Factory trigger blade return screw is very hard, I know Mike replaces them with lighter one, as I did. I also changed the profile of the upper part of the sear to reduce the drag. The solution is to increase the tension on the spring to fight the drag and get the FPS back up, or cut a relief channel in the hammer.

That's my 2 cents on this matter :)

I'd be willing to bet that you could also reshape the hammer sear to have less of a flat spot on top to drag, make it more of a point instead of a mesa so the hammer would clear the sear sooner.  I like your thinking on cutting a groove in the hammer as well, or maybe just a flat spot starting a couple mm's aft of the sear catch on the hammer, that could easily be done by the home tuner with a file and a little patience.  Funny thing is I don't remember these issues with the 2260 or even the 2240 trigger group which is also similar, it seems like the 2260 would have exactly the same issues...it's the same trigger group afterall.  The lower link mod would tend to increase sear drag because what you have effectively done by changing the fulcrum on the lower link is given the trigger blade more mechanical advantage.  Mechanical advantage comes at a price though, you change the ratio of sear movement to trigger blade movement...easier to pull, but less change in hammer sear movement, perhaps worse drag issues.  Honestly I think if the TKO trigger is adjusted right and you "squeeze" the trigger everytime (I try not to jerk a trigger anyways) then your FPS should stay fairly consistant.  I installed the TKO kit, adjusted it, and forgot about it.  I still haven't chronied my Disco, but to be honest it hits everything I point it at out to 60-70 yards or so, so I'm not really concerned with how it does on the chrony.  The chrony would probably just make me sick to my stomach, haha!!  Ignorance is bliss sometimes, and for me this is one of those times:)  I still stand by what I said about the Disco trigger group when I first saw that they used the 2260 trigger, it is one of the worst trigger groups I have ever seen....but it can be made a whole bunch better, it is what it is.  Looks like Crosman pulled out all of the stops on the new Marauder trigger, I guess they were saving that for a rainy day.

Dano, that's almost exactly what I did, I reshaped the top of the sear to make a more pronounced "step" at the end of it for the hammer to rest on and shaved the top to reduce the drag. I wish I was more thorough documenting this stuff and taking pictures as I work... Even so the drag was still there, but consistent trigger pull yielded consistent velocities. My trigger ended up being under 2lbs with adjustable 1st stage (only 1 screw mod) and fairly crisp brake. The new onwner of my Disco seems to like it too :)
