I'd like to thank everyone once again for their input.  I've ordered a B-26 in .22, although not from Mr. Melick, due to the red tape invloved going cross-border.  I won't have the gun for a few weeks, but I like anticipation more than most people, so that is fine with me.
Cheers.
Dan

:D Got one off  MM in 177.  My worst fear, getting a lemon.  The trouble of shipping it back.  You wont have this if you by from MM.  Very smooth shooter, and the best trigger of all my airguns. Comes with a life time warranty. Buy it!!!! ! ! ! ! ! !

Mike, on the B-26 I got a couple of weeks ago.  Did you already tune up the trigger, ie bend the tabs as has been suggested?  I see where you put the hex head screw.   If I back out that screw and put another washer will the 2nd stage release be lighter?

The  shadetree machinist in me  wants   to take it appart but I am trying to resist.

I have found that it likes pellets 8.4gr or larger.  The daisy wadcutters shoot very low and with a pretty loud pop.  I wonder if they are so light that they are going supersonic?  I'll save them for the B3.  Those 10.7gr  from Cabelas are pretty nice and a reasonable price.

Chinagunner, your thought was exactly mine.  Might find one a bit cheaper but it might have some fatal flaw like a misalinged  breach lockup that would forrever limit its performance.

tks Don

I've done all the work on the trigger, the front screw is for the amount of release on the second stage, go in for less, out for more...I set them for a normal and safe set uo, you can't hurt anything if you adjust it. The screw behind the trigger is for pull weight, try that first....Mike

I tried swapping an HW trigger blade for the standard B26 one, the holes that the pin go through are different sizes, and if you drill out the HW hole, the trigger blade flops about in the trigger housing and does not contact the sear properly. It was one of the first things I did, but sadly, it didn't work.

I looked at that post comparing the triggers between the HW and the B26 and it looks like if one were patient you could use a small grinder or dremel tool and make your own out of some stock of some kind.  Good experiment for a shadetree machinist once I get brave enough to tear my B26 appart.

if you can tell the difference between the two triggers when they are correctly adjusted you have a better feel than I do, I have both and can't tell the difference. Both feel like a match trigger when adjusted right, big problem is getting them to light...

The real secret of the HW trigger blade is the twin rollers that are set into the blade, thus giving that nice two stage feel in operation.

These show it well.

Hey Graham, do those pins really roll or are they just a bump?  I'm thinking that they are really just bumps made by staking pins in there.  I would assume that those "rollers" are hardened steel so that they don't wear out like the base trigger material.  One could duplicate that with some pieces of drill bit of the right size swedged into a homemade trigger.

My MM tuned B26-2 shoots 680 and still gives me a WOW every time I shoot it, which was yesterday. I cut down the comb on the thumb hole stock and like it that much better. It is very accurate. It likes any RWS pellet and the cheaper Peak and Daisy Flat Nose. It has nice balance too... Frank

They are pins, not rollers, made from hardened steel. My point is....it's these that give that nice two stage feel. Best of luck with your bits of drill though.
