The Jim Maccari b26 kit
« on: January 27, 2007, 12:57:18 PM »
I order this last week, The kit consist of the main spring, front guide and custom seal. I did not get the deluxe kit. The kit was easy to install, no problems at all replacing the seal. The spring comes preset, I polished the ends of the spring to remove what little bit of a edge was there, add my lube to the original guide, front and outside of the spring; drop them into the tube.

The gun before was easier to cock, the reason being the seal was in need of replacing. the new seal really does the trick, I did lose some fps but not to much. the gun is very sweet to shot now than before. The groups at 12 yards is one hole for 3 shots, further out it clovers at 40 yrds. I can say this kit is needed for every b26 out there, for the ease of cocking and removal of the hold sensitivity. The shot string is follows

Average   828
spread    5.2
Std Dev   2.179
max         831
min          826
fpe  12.6
for 10 shots.  the spread is what I was trying to shoot for, gives more consistence shot to shot firing cycle.  this is so far the best I have seen in a springer, of any make that I have dealt with.

here's a picture of the old and new seal.

The old one is on the left and new one on the right.

The completed gun with the simmons scope, barrel shroud, and the new internals.

I have the seal from Jim for my 40 but I haven't decided to install it or leave it be for now.

Hey, Wallis, that scope sure looks familiar :-)!  Is there enough clearance to get the covers on, looks tight?  Nice numbers, and nice accuracy.  The more I see of the B26, the more I want one!  Someday soon.  Later.

"The more I see of the B26, the more I want one!"

Maybe they'll come out with a Chinese gas ram version for ya Dave....hehe, I don't think the Chinese airgun makers care much what sort of legal rights another company has to a product...ya never know:)

Hehe, I was just thinking, you'll probably just make your own....
