Got my second B3...

It's the replacement gun for the first one I got from TOOLSNOW.COM. The first one ate up the breech seal within 40 shots,so they sent me another. Cleaned the barrel inside, and wiped off external oil. Test fired it with the open sights, and found in shows signs of good accuracy like the first one. I's also loud and smokes a bit.The stock is nicer on the second gun.The trigger is way better on the fist one! The first was a little bit "graty" but had a nice light pull.The second is "graty" but with a very heavy pull.I can see that the second will have enough rear sight adjustment so I will be able to zero it.They both shot right on elevation-wise, but both shot to the left.The first one was so far left it ran out of adjustment and still shot maybe three inches left. The second started at about 1 1/2 inches to the left.Both guns like Crosman Premier Hollow Points and RWS Hobbys (and maybe others-more shooting to follow).
    I read somewhere that one can use a "tee bar clamp" as a spring compressor. Anyone heard of this, or know just what one is?

funny you should mention the windage issues,...........both of the .22 b3s i have shoot dead on as far as elevation go, but both hit consistently about 1.5 inches left of the bull at a measured 10meters. my son and i sat up in the attic range last night, and with b3 #1, i placed 10 shots into one ragged hole ( sitting, elbows resting inside my knees ).........all 1.5 to 2 inches left of the bull.
ive ordered one piece scope mounts for both and will likely go with a short tube scopeas recommended by other forum members  that clears the loading port. my thoughts are that these will make a nice inexpensive rat-sniper.

trigger wise, b3#2 had a far heavier trigger than b3#1. after pulling the barrel and action from the stock, i found one of the trigger pins had walked out of the action creating a "bind" . after cleaning all the "wok" oil off and resetting the pin, the trigger now has a very nice albeit about 4# pull..

It seems to be typical for me that when I scope a springer, I'm lucky if I can get any kind of group at all out of it.I can hold the same sight picture as my previous shot,squeeze the trigger the same, and the stinkin pellet lands four inches from the last at ten yards.My Crosman 1077 is really shooting some better groups now that I've been able to try it in warmer weather. My Remington Airmaster 77 is as consistent as the day is long. I'm going to do some more shooting with my second B3 using the open sights, and if I can get groups like I already got the first time I shot it, and hopefully a little bit better, I may just not scope the darn thing at all.My crappy 55 year old eyesight is a big problem. I wear hard contacts for distance, and then have to wear reading glasses for up close.It all plays hell with trying to use open sights.

Hey birdmove. I have found that a simple crosman red dot on the 1077 works wonders. i am able to walk the shots behind the squirrels as they run across tree branches because you dont loose the sight picture and the rifle allows me to shoot several shots. But as far as the airmaster, i got a 2100 (the crosman version) and i can tell you that with crosman hollowpoints and a RWS compact 4x32, i can knock pennies at 25 yards 10 out of 10 times! That little rifle deserves that scope, try it,or any 4x32 for that matter (even gamo ones are ok since the recoil is inexistent) and you will discover a whole new world in shooting. It allows to make elevation adjustments with the number of pumps used. I set zero at 25 yards with 5 pumps. 6 pumps hits 29 yards, 7... 33yrds, 8... 38yrds and so forth. I set cans at those ranges and it hits them all by just changing the pump number, all shots landing in a 1 inch circle. I love my 2100 with the scope. open sights are too big and cover most of the target. best open sight rifle is R7 in my opinion...
