Results of "STEROID 15" Match #16
« on: May 25, 2009, 03:31:35 AM »

WELCOME ALL !

I know the difficulty of the STEROID 15 target, and encourage our family members here to keep working on you shooting abilities, You Will Succeed ! Each week we practice and get better, perhaps not as quickly as we hope, but point by point, we will succeed. Very Good Shooting on a Difficult Target !

After a very difficult weekend working in the outback yard, believe me, I was willing to NOT shoot this weekend ! But I didn't want to let everyone down, and I didn't want to quit on myself, so I have and hope, I will shoot better in the future ! a possitive thinking exercise !!! Last week I shot a clean target, for perhaps the first time, and returned to shoot with two missed targets, bad me :-(

Thanks Bill.
I just developed an issue while while shooting today. Very inconsistent! I think I must have gotten some lube on the hammer in my Talon and 1 shot in 3 is just dropping off the target, grrrrrrr. If I don't get a chance to completely dissamble and and clean the rifle this week then my scores are going to be in the basement for this week's rifle matches.

Folks need to remember that I had a health issue this winter and wasn't allowed to do much, but standing still and pulling a trigger was well within my doctor's orders :-). I got LOTS of practice (many thousands of shots). I'm just trying to keep my skills up at this point as I haven't shot a personal best in any match other than the match pistol in many weeks. Over all I did better than I can justify this week but I must have been in the zone!

My number 1 lesson learned - - Only take the good shots! I spent hours forcing shots until I convinced myself to STOP. If you don't feel steady or if you 'aim' so long that you can't hold a reasonble bull - - put the gun down for a minute rather than pull the trigger. Seriously makes a world of difference.
