Konnichiwa from Japan
« on: May 25, 2009, 02:30:43 PM »
I didn't see a place for intros so I thought this would be the best place.  My name is Jason, and I am a Texan living on the central east coast of Japan.  I have been reading threads for about 8 hours in the last 2 days, looking at opinions and modifications.  I have some beginner what should I do questions/opinions, but I will try to do another few hours of reading, in case I have missed stuff.  Made it back to May of last year with the search function.  Any way to increase results on the search function?
I have owned a dozen airguns, and currently have a NIB Crosman 1077 that I am looking to get rid of, and a B3-1 that I am looking to upgrade or buy a newer one and upgrade.  Been shooting airguns since probably 7 years old.  The B3 is the bird on the feeder getter, and has been scoped and unscoped.  Just looking to learn some about B3s and ariguns in general.

Welcome Jason!

Check out the China Gate forum, there's some good info there about the B3.  Also try searching by author and look up our buddy Shadow, he's done quite a bit with B3's.

I already have a few threads bookmarked for future reference when I get back to the states, and will try to start a thread in the airgun gate about the second airgun to be in the stable.  i will do a search on shadow tonight. Will see if my dad can send me the trigger parts for me to play wiht from my old B3 and see if I can start practicing on polishing stuff.  Should I keep the old b3-1, or try to find a b3-4?

I join the forum and the next day there is a gun that I really like in the classifieds for what looks like a good price only 2 hours down the road.  Coincidence?  Guess I have alot more reading to do on Discos and PCPs for newbies.

Welcome to GTA Jason, A GREAT PLACE TO BE!!!!!. :) I would hang on to the B3, with a little TLC their great little shooters. There's a ton of info here, mod's and tunes and were more then happy to answer any questions about the little CHINA GAL!. 8) I have a collection of them myself, their tuned and have taken their share of small game. A good shooter to dig into and get a idea of their working's and upgrade knowledge . Ed

Shadow, at a $30 buy-in, would it be worth it to go for a m3-4 instead of te the b3-1?  I will put some more questions in their respective  forums by tomorrow I think.

Welcome to GTA Dust. I gurantee if you like anything to do with airguns you will like this place. I know they have helped me out a lot, and i do what i can to give a little back. Dont listen to shadow though, hes a little crazy with all the paint fumes from his camo jobs. lol. I am toying with the idea of getting a B-3 myself as a beater gun. Have a look around, and enjoy yourself.

The quality control has gotten a lot better on the B series shooter's so it's just a personal choice of what you want and are looking for. :) Ed

Shadow, I will have my dad keep an eye out.  he has started going to gun shows again. Bentong. Shiawase desu.No airsoft rifles for me. I know where to spend my money.  One of my students spent $800 on an airsoft "sniper" gun.  I laughed because for the same price I could have the real thing. BrodMan, I joined three other AG forums last week, but must say I have spent more time here than the other three.  I started my newbie thread in the airgun gate, and I am already getting the help.

TJK, already talked to Mike, and he recommended the B25 or 6 for me, but I am looking at whether I need a PCP or springer..
