Walther Force 1000
« on: May 30, 2009, 04:42:32 PM »
I have been looking into getting a pellet gun for my Dad for Father's Day. While doing some searching tonight I found a refurbished Walther Force 1000 on Sportsmans Guide for $79.97 with a scope. I couldn't pass it up! I went ahead and ordered it and had it shipped to my house so that I can get it and test it out before I send it off to him. I found a post on here saying that this gun is identical to the Tech Force 99. Does anyone know any info about this Walther? They have limited quanitites so if you're looking for a cheap priced gun, I think it's tough to pass up.

I don't think so.  The TF99 is more like the QB36-2.  QB36-2 is the bigger brother to QB36-1 and the QB36-1 is like the TF97. Make sense???

I think the Walther Falcons are Hatsans and the Force you are talking about is indeed Chinese.  I'm not sure that the Force is the same as the TF-89 which is a "clone" of the RWS350?  I think it may be more like the powerplant in the Quest/Phantom/G1/Gamo kind of rifles.  Hopefully someone will chime in as I don't have any experience with the Walther Force.

Either way that's a great Father's Day present.

Here is a link from a couple years ago: http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=4804&mid=33958

If Vince says it is an AR1000 variant, it probably is... therefore it has the makings of a pretty good gun. That would depend on the quality of the "refurb".

A good AR1000 would probably be a better choice than TF-99 and a lot lighter to carry around. Completely different animal, breakbarrel instead of an underlever, totally different powerplants.

Edited to add that I just looked at that and it sure is the AR1000 style, aka Beeman SS1000 or RS2. That is a pretty good price for one of these! If you want to know a lot more about this gun, search under the AR1000, RS2, or SS1000 (I think one of the Hammerli's too?). This is a very good Chinese gun that has been labeled for many of the big names. I didn't know Walther was one of them.

Dave is correct, and for sure the TF-89, AR1000 IMO would be a much better choice than the Walther or TF-99.

Gene, ca you expand on the idea why the TF89 and AR1000 are a better choice than the Walther?

I was considering one of several rifles in  22;

BAM XS B26-2
TF89
XS B28
Walther Falcon

I have a TF97, and TF89...like the 89 LOTs better than the 97. But what .22 for under $275??

I'm also wondering why. Especially at that price too..
Yea, though I walk through the garden in the shadows of pests,
I will fear no squirrel: For thou art with me;
thy scope and thy trigger, they comfort me.

From what I can tell the Walther is another AR1000 clone. It even looks like it has the adjustable trigger.

Well after tuning them both I would never tune another Walther springer again. IMO they are junk and are not a safe air rifle. I have tuned the AR 1000 and TF 89, Beeman 950, etc. which all share the same power plant and triggers. The trigger in these models are one of the best made triggers yet from the Chinese, excluding any record clones. It is a true two stage design that can be tuned to a beautiful crisp brake on the second stage.

The Walther shares non of the qualities that the others do. Do your self a favor and forget the high numbers that the Walther advertises and get a different springer.

It is a Force not a Falcon. Go to sportsmans guide, and take a close up view of it. It looks like another AR1000 variation.

Ok, I stand corrected. This is the exact same as the AR1000, Beeman 950, TF89.. Go for it and you will love it. It will need some tlc for it to show its oats...:)
