R.I.P. David Carradine
« on: June 04, 2009, 04:54:39 AM »
Well my day just turned to being bummed.  Guess David was found dangling from a neuce in his hotel room in Bankok, Thailand.  If you have seen any of his movies or ever watched "Kung Fu" there's a good chance you know who he is.

I'm really gonna miss this guy.  Rest easy, buddy...

Sad day for all that watched him. I can't help but wonder what demons he was dealing with to make him end his life. The mind is a mysterious thing for sure.

I truly wonder if he did take his own life ??? Very few people, especially men, will kill themselves naked !

But he will be missed !

What a drag, I grew up watching Kung Fu and he always seemed to be in touch with his Zen. He's at peace now and every Cherry Blossom is...perfect. Ed

My Favorate Carradine role was his portrail of Cole Younger in the fick "The Long Riders". He played Jesse James cousin. Rough, tough, and a true Bad-@$$ gun-slinger for sure. Not to bad with the Knife either! If you haven't seen it, check it out. RIP and God Be With You David,...Thomas

Several news reports state that he was found with rope around more than just his neck-- i.e. it was an accidental hanging during the pursuit of something else.

My wife was a huge fan of Carradine and was thrilled to work on a movie with him a few years ago and sit down and smoke a cigar with the man-- even though she doesn't normally smoke she sure did that day :-) My wife was quite upset when I told her about this today.

The director of that movie doesn't think it likely that he killed himself either: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/thedishrag/2009/06/david-carradine-is-dead-final-role.html

..and that article mentions nothing about what he was likely actually doing when he accidentally died.

I myself didn't get a chance to meet him-- he wasn't one for going out on the town, unlike another cast member who I did hang out with (common nickname "The hedgehog") :-)
