July 18 shoot near Fort Worth, TX
« on: June 06, 2009, 03:28:52 PM »
Had a great time at the NTAGM shoot and want to encourage more gatherings so here goes.

The date is July 18.  The plan is to start shooting around 9-10 and stop around 3-4 and then everyone go over to the Willow Park Railhead BBQ (I'll reserve a room if everyone is onboard).  I am throwing out the idea to bring at least one gun to sell/trade just to make it interesting.  Distances will be up to 75 yards with most of the shooting under 50yds.  Tables provided, just bring a chair, targets, drinks, etc.  I will have a grill set up for people to grill as they feel the need.  Room for about 20-25 people under a pecan tree so the sun shouldn't be an issue, more with a canopy I have.  None of the super high powered units because of concerns about my backstop, just being really careful here.  The annoucement went out a few days ago and we have 11  people so far.

Hello I am new here, but I live in North Richland hills Texas right near fort worth, and I am interested in meeting some fellow shooters for my son and myself?  How are these events normally handled

UPDATE
Hello everyone.  Just wanted to send out an update.  Instead of 9 anyone is welcome to arrive at 8.  That way we can still have plenty of time in case it gets to hot.  Looks like we have a chance of rain but at least they are saying the temps are projected to be below 100.  I will go ahead and reserve the room at the Railhead BBQ for when we finish it up.  There are several people bringing items to sell/trade if anyone is interested.  Looks like we are right at 20 attending.

Let me know if you have any questions, Ron

Ron is a great host, we had a big time in Aledo TX today, about twenty of us, and the weather was great. We had a cool front, and it was ten degrees less than it has been (lower 90's, but cooler when we setup). A colossal pecan tree provided shade for about eight tables. Many nice guns, and some friendly shooters ready to share discussion or guns on a temporary basis. We all had fun, thanks and looking forward to the next one...

Really appreciate all that were able to attend.  With days of forecasts of rain we saw zero and temperatures were great for this time of year.  Brian and Jerry showed up early an set up the field which I am really greatful for....and they had one of the longest drives at over an hour.  Nice to meet people in person that you have come to know on the forums!  As for those that couldn't make it such as TexasShooter72, metalmanmatt, and others I  promise to do more in the future.  Talk generated lots of possiblilites for future events so look for something around the end of September or early October that won't conflict with the NTAGM shoot.

Take care, Ron

Sorry for the delay.  Anyone have suggestions on how to post a whole set and how to deal with the large file size?  I have zero editing software other than paint on this PC.

Ron try Goggle Picasa.  Works very well for quick editing and the best part is its FREE.
