No sir, it's the new one with the plastic reciever and plastic pump arm. I bought the rifle one afternoon at wal-mart and figured I could use it just for messin around in the back yard. When I got it home I got out my portable shooting bench, some bags and about 20 differant tins of pellets and began shooting at 15 yards just to see what it liked. I was blown away at the accuracy of this little in-expensive rifle. You really have to see to believe how well it shoots off the bench using bags. Crazy. It's as accurate as some of my really expensive air rifles. Doesn't have the speed of course, but shoots really straight. I have found mine shoots best with the super-H-points and the Gamo match pellets. I am thinking about taking a spare 3X9 or 4X12 I have in my shop and mounting one just to see if it makes it any better. My eyes are getting old :) Deffinately worth the 40 bucks. Be warned, I have read reports on the 880, most good like mine, but some reported loose barrels, although I read after that the problem was fixed by Daisy. Seems they had a quality control issue at one certain time while these were being made that caused that issue but have since worked it out. I would love to have one of the older ones with the metal recievers and wood stocks. I have heard those are really nice. But to really answer your question, this rifle with the right ammo is just as accurate as my sheridan, Xisco, Quest 1000, or Benji at 10 to 25 yards. Thanks, Gapmaster
