- 5 deg. predawn hunt
« on: February 03, 2007, 03:56:15 AM »
Awoke this mornin thinking of my latest successful hunting trip's out on dad's farm. Thats all it took, get your but up ed and go hunt.! Got my snow camo gear on and out the door at 5:00 am. Holy frozen eyeballs mmm well im up and out now, no guts no glory hehe.Got out to the farm and thought I'd try to call some tree rat's in, got rabbit in the icebox already. Waded through the snow to the orchard, mother nature kicking my but the whole way , such a frigid lady.Got to the orchard found a nice brush pile/ wind break and settled in. Ten min. of calling went by when I heard a distant chatter so I copied chatter. Back and forth we went , his chatters gettin closer. There about forty yrds I spotted him, shakin his tail and acting like his space was being invaded. I muffled my chatters and he moved in to about to twenty yrds, a educated gess since my eyeballs were frozen open hehe. Dropped the call and sighted in the crosshairs on his noggin, BAM watched him drop from the tree and land at the base, lights out.! The Shadow's got a new muzz break too, my first completed project on the lathe. Still fabing on the B3 piston. :) hunting Ed

Thanks Jeff, kept my first lathe project simple put some grip grooves in it for cocking. Stainless and shot flat black. The nutter calls work good as you can see. Thanks again and :) hunting Ed

You are hardcore.

I just cannot bring myself to do more than shoot gallon jugs of ice from my back door.  (From inside)  It's freezin' nutters out here and I am just gonna let em' be till it warms up some.

Say...where'd you get the squirrel call?

Also, nice Muzzle Break you made.

Well If I had all you GTA airgun hunting buddies here I'd build a nice hunting shanty on wheels. Heated , fridge, lazy boys and pop up windows for easy shootin maby order out for chinese rabbit hehehe. But it's just me,sobsob, it's ok love the outdoors. Got the tree rat call from the local hunting store, clearence sale 75% off. Ithink CABELAS carries em too. Ed
