RWS for 175.00
« on: June 15, 2009, 10:58:46 AM »
Natchez Supplies has this RWS M34  .22 cal on sale for 175.00.
What is this sellers reputation? That is a 100 bucks below Umarex price. I just wander if it is not some second grade from QC.
I am still on the market for a bargain, but not for second quality.( If that even exists, coming from Germany).

Natchez is a very old, reputable seller. I have bought a number of scopes from them, always good service. Natchez tends to buy close outs and offers them at good deals.

Thanks for your comment.
I will also keep them as a reference on the scopes!

Three questions:

Is the RWS 34M at Natchez the same as a RWS Diana 34 at Pyramid or are they two different models?

At Pyramid...What is the difference between the RWS Diana 34 and the RWS Diana 34 Striker?
Is it only the scope and mount?
I ask because the RWS 34 Striker is only $3 dollar more @ $229 than the Diana 34 at Pyramid with a Leapers droop compensating one piece mount, rings, and 4x32 Leapers scope.

That deal puts the RWS Diana 34 at $173 which is a couple of bucks cheaper than Natchez.

Using the 10% off code for Pyramid...the Diana 34 is $156. Now that's a deal!!!

I do not see how a ten percent coupon on a $229.00 RWS will end up being $156.00.  Yes the RWS 34 at Natc hez and Pyramyd are the same.

Sorry about that. My brain is slower than my fingers sometimes. I meant that the cost of the Diana 34 in the package would be $155.70.
Looking at the Pyramid ad, it appears that they are using the UTG compensating Weaver mount, Leapers 4x32AO Mil-Dot with Weaver rings in the combo.
I called to verify the scope and mount, but they are moving today into their new building today and won't be open until noon.
If it is true, I might get one just because it's a good deal even thought I just bought a MM B-25.

I broke it down like this using the sale prices today for the mount and scope:

 RWS Striker Combo $  229.00 -10% $ 206.10
 UTG Compensating Mount $  -17.50 -10% $  -34.65
 Leaper 4x32 AO w/ Weaver Rings $  -38.50  -10% $  -15.75
 RWS Diana 34 $ 173.00 -10% $ 155.70

edit:
I flipped the numbers of the mount and scope in the first column, sorry. I couldn't get the numbers to line up in text mode, so I had to learn how to use the table. No simple feet in itself.
I spoke with Pyramid, and the scope is a Leapers 4x32 AO made for RWS just like the Leapers 4x32 AO sold at Pyramid just not the exact same Leapers 4x32 AO sold by Pyramid.
It comes from RWS and is not sold separately as an item by Pyramid. You would need to purchase the Leapers 4x32 AO sold by Pyramid...   :-)

Still lookin like a good deal to me.

Wasn't that a mouthful...

I am still a greenhorn to AG shooting, but it escapes me, why anyone would scope AG with a 4 power, and 32mm at that.
To me, if the cost was 16 bucks i would not use it. Used to have a 4 x  Nikon on my 308cal for shooting after dark, when the deer got smart, but that was practical matter. (As much as illegal I might say).
Light gathering in a quarter moon on that thing was outstanding and distance was never over 80 yards.
Diferrence is, that a boiler room on a whitetail is much larger than on the little critters.
Just my 2 cents.

All my AG's are scoped. My Beeman RS1 came with a 4x32 on it, and I put Leapers 3-9x32 mini's on the others to keep the weight down.
In my case, it's not the light gathering or magnification (which is a plus) as much as the ole eyes not beeing what they used to be.
Otherwise, I'd probably use the iron sights for short distances. I need reading glasses for up close to see the iron sights,
but then I need other glasses to see far away. So...it's a pain swapping glasses just to hit something. The 4x anything makes it work.
Man it stink gettin old!

Natchez is a reputable dealer.

Yep even Germany puts out its share of second rate goods.  Didn't keep me from just picking up a new HW30S though ; )

This would've been another 5% (about $10) less yesterday, with the Father's Day discount, guess that's what they mean by "time is money." LOL

I just had to update my original finding with dissapointing news.

Unfortunately, the 10% off coupons don't work at Pyramid for this sale like I thought.
You can't get the super deal that I calculated earlier.

edit:...If you use the 10% off you have to pay shipping ...still a deal but not a super one
So, the Natchez deal is still the best.

Sorry for getting everyone's hopes up...I tried.
