GRT-111 replacement trigger unit
« on: June 17, 2009, 01:31:48 AM »
Hello, members may be interested in an email as below I wrote to Bob Werner, alias "Charlie Da Tuna"
after fitting one of his excellent GRT-111 replacement triggers to my Gamo-CFX.
In my opinion,it is a" must do" modification to any Gamo CFX , or CFX Royal air rifle.
The improvement is vast !! and very easy to fit. Even a link to a film of how to fit the trigger
is provided.

 To Bob Werner
I RECEIVED MY grt-111 replacement trigger on
Monday June 15 th..
It even  comes with an Allen key for adjusting the trigger ,so this
afternoon , I fitted it.
No snags that weren't my own fault (when you are 64 years of age, you need
to wear your glasses........) I did not see right away that the trigger has
to sit astride the sear so there was too much interference , stopping the
rifle from cocking until I refitted the trigger correctly.
Nor did I realise I did not need the old trigger spring.
From then on , I realised that the FCX was totally transformed to say the
least.
Before I fitted your trigger,a barn door was safe at 30 yards from being hit
! but now I get 3/4 inch groups at this distance.
This grouping may improve even more when I find the right ammo to suit the
rifle , bur if I never do,this is an awesome improvement over the original
and worth every penny.
The workmanship of the GAMO-111 trigger is excellent ,and is
a credit to your manufacturers and your own specifications Bob.
So,Thanks once again for this excellent trigger unit, which has turned my
Gamo FXC into a very good shooting job.

Very Best Regards , Ian Edge.

Poynton,

Cheshire

Hello gamo2hammerli,thanks for the great welcome, and yes, this trigger is a great improvement over the stock item.
What I will need to do next is work on a scheme to give me even less trigger creep while still retaining the use of the safety catch.
Thanks also for the info below.
Best Rgds,Ian

Hello Big Bill,
thanks for your very warm welcome to GTA .
May I say that you were dead right with your evaluation of the GRT-111 trigger unit!
I will now try to work out a scheme if I can where I can obtain even less trigger creep
and still be able to use the safety catch for when the Grandchildren use it.(they are all 13 to 17 years old now.....how time flies by....)
Even if this won't work out,it is still the best mod ever for a Gamo or similar air rifle
in my opinion too !!

I have found the Gamo is not as ammo sensitive as I thought,I just needed more practise,so

Thanks again Bill.

Best Rgds , Ian

And yet another warm welcome Ian. Many of us own Gamo air rifles and many of us of course have installed the GRT-III triggers. They really make the difference in shooting permance on all Gamo and many other manufactured air rifles as well.

We love pictures so get your camer warmed up and post some of your favorite air rifles. We never get tired of seeing air rifles..:)

I ordered the GRT-111 on Monday 6/15 and was pleasantly surprised to receive it on Friday 6/19.  Within 20 minutes I had it installed in my Whisper 22 and was trying it out.  It's soooo sweet.  Unfortunately it rained all weekend so I was unable to give it a thorough testing at the range.  I know it will improve my groups because this spring I replaced the trigger in a Marlin 980 and that did wonders.  It's sad that the manufacturers don't equip their products adequately from the start.  Thanks for a great product, delivered promtly.

Imust admit, when I bought my Gamo Whisper Deluxe about a year ago, and started hanging around here, I was skeptical about all the rave comments concerning the GRT III. Well, last week I finally ordered one. It got here yesterday and I installed it this morning, before my coffee. And even considering the klutz factor, it took me maybe 10 minutes, start to finish. Sound familiar? For a 68 year old with ten thumbs, that's not bad.

My first shot out of it hardly got on paper, because I started to press the trigger the way I pressed the old one, and it when bang before I was ready. The second shot was a bulls-eye. This is one helluva trigger.

I was really skeptical that a simple trigger change could improve things that much. However, yesterday, I took the Whisper to the range and it was amazing.

Welcome Ian. I am also an old fart of 70 and have installed 4 GRT triggers. 2 in my guns and 2 in friends guns. Everyone was amazed at the results. Real easy install
and makes the guns a pleasure to shoot. Now I hope to learn to tune my own guns and after playing with different pellets I even surprised myself on the accuracy of these pellet guns
I am a squirrel hunter and plan to use mine on those tree rats this year. Hope you enjoy this forum as much as I have and learn as much as possible from the knowledge available here.
