quick B3-1 question
« on: June 20, 2009, 07:41:47 PM »
I just got one of the toolsnow B3-1s.
What kind of scope rails does it have? Are the 3/8" or 11mm?

I have an extra compact 4x32 scope...but I only have a set of weaver/picatinny rings for it, so if I need to get new mounts, I'd like to place my order for them.

ALSO, any recommendations for an inexpensive scope ring setup for the B3-1?

I have Accushot 2 piece medium  mounts on my B-3's and they worked great.

They are short 11mm rails and as LIH says, the Accushot is ideal.

The Accushot one piece mount clamp rails are reversible, for either 11mm or 3/8" (9.5mm). If your compact scope is 32mm or less, the medium mounts should be fine. I don't know if a 40mm will fit on the mediums (and still clear the rifle) for sure or not.

is this what you guys mean?

These dont mention 11mm, only 3/8" so I'm not sure if these are the right (reversible) kind.

Also, my scope is a compact 4x32, so I think once I figure out the dovetail size, I'm good to go.

Those are the two-piecers. I haven't used them.

The one piece has the reversible rail: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Leapers_Accushot_1-Pc_Mount_w_1_Rings_3_8_Dovetail/805

That mount is too long for B3-1 rail.

The 2 piece Accushot mounts will in fact handle up to a 40 mm objective lens, the locking shoes are also reversible, just like on the one piece, so they will fit your B-3.

very cool!!

Thank you! I'll order up the two piece ones, and give that a shot.
...now if I could only get my QB 57 to shoot consistently....
I'm going nutz over this thing...and I'm running out of ideas....

If you mount up a very long scope, it will inhibit loading somewhat. I had a Leapers 3x9 airgun scope on mine for a while, and mounted it to the rear as far as practical. I was able to load it all right.Bear in mind, you must hold the underlever at all times when loading, and hold it firmly. If that baby slams closed on your finger, you may lose it.I took my scope off the first B3, because the gun just didn't have the accuracy or consistency to warrant having my "best" airgun scope on it. I have that scope on my Crosman 1077 right now, to see what I can get that gun to do.I will never buy another air rifle scope that doesn't have an adjustable objective.I have two Leapers with AO now-the 3x9 and a nice 4x32mm.My eyesight is so screwed up I could never get my Centerpoint 4x32 to have both the target and the crosshirs in focus at the same time-but it doesn't have AO.My second B3 seems possibly more accurate, though I have only fired it with the open sights so far.
Having said all this, I did get some nice groups from the first B3-I just couldn't do it consistently, and would get totally unaccountable flyers all too often. And not flyers like I get with my Beeman 1024 springer, but much worse ones. So, as I said, I removed my scope from it for now.

Well, for starters, I'm planning on putting on my non AO leapers 4x32 basic scope on it.
I just got the accushot rings for it..so I think I'm set once it gets here...
Currently, I have a QB-57..that is wearing a 4x32 non AO leapers..and I have another one for the B-3.
I do own a 3-9x40AO leapers..but its too long to put on either of these two guns..so for now, its sitting in a box, "aging".
