B3-- again
« on: June 21, 2009, 05:29:17 AM »
Yanked the B3 down again this morning with no other purpose than to FIX THE TRIGGER!!! Well I did it. And I just had to brag a little.

I read everything there is to know about these guns so I knew better than to remove metal from the contact surfaces or change any angles, polish only. Bound and determined to get it the best I could, I whipped out the Lansky knife sharpening kit and selected the 'pink stone'  It's extra extra fine. Don't know what grit but it's almost glass smooth. So for the next hour I polished 4 surfaces to a mirrorfinish. No rounding of edges or anything like that, only the flat surfaces. With a touch of lithium grease, I re-assembled and tested it out.

YES!!!
It now has a first stage that I can wiggle in and out of, and when I feel resistance it only takes a gentle pull to release. I would estimate around 1.5 lbs. Can't wait to go do some off-hand shooting with it. Before I had to prop up against something to steady the gun while waiting on the trigger to release, in what seemed to be around 5 to 7 lbs.

This has been a fun little shooter to tinker with.

Back out in the heat for practice........
