bam 26 2 in .22 cal.
« on: June 21, 2009, 06:34:27 AM »
Looking for another rifle in .22 or .25. I like  the way the bam 26 2 with the thumbhole stock looks. Any info on accuracy, Power, what is it a clone of?  I have a tf 89 in .22 cal, and like it, But I have the airgun bug and just keep wanting more. I have purchased a tf99, tf89, beeman rs2, and now a drozd blackbird I havent even got to take out of the box. So Any suggestions on the bam 26 2 in .22 cal. such as scope would be appreciated. I like springers right now for my hunting rifles. Someday may move to pcp. I use the leapers accushot one piece high mounts. Thanks guys for any and all info. Take it easy and shoot safe and straight.

I got mine from Mike Melick and absolutly love it. It's a R-9 copy and I ordered mine tuned. Mounted a Luepold scope on it and there is no problem hitting within 1/2" out ot 30 yards. It takes about 200 to 300 shots for it to settle down so don't run out and buy the most expensive pellets right away. Turns out mine likes cheaper pellets, specifically the Gamo Hunters and not JSBs. I'm sure it will change again after a 1000 shots or so. It's smooth, points good, reasonably light, and sturdy.

My .22 -2 was turbo tuned a while back by CDT and it's without a doubt one of my best shooters. It shoots right at 650 fps and does it's best work with JSB exacts. I had to plane down the stock and refinish but I understand that problem has been taken care of on the current ones. It has a 3-9X50 Leapers on two piece Acushot high mounts. I know I would recommend to anyone, especially if you like the thumbhole stock look.

Got mine from MM last week. I put a 3x9x32  Leapers Bug Buster on it.
Easy loader, super accurate and super quiet. Comes with the muzzle brake.
Took tree rats to the head at 30 yds. all weekend.

I've had my MM tuned straight stock B26 for around 6 or 7 months now with a leepers 4x32ao scope and mount, I added a muzzle brake and its a tack driver that like fine wine just seems to get better with age, I shoot it everyday and the blackbird populations has been thinned out considerably, lol
Mike Melick tuned Bam B26,with  Leapers 4x16x40ao scope,Gene turbo tuned TF89 with Barska 3X12X40A0 scope and More powder burners than you can shake a stick at.                  Gun control is hitting what your aiming at

Dane, Great to see another hunter aboard the GTA "BB-Gun" Ship, you're in good company here!!! For basic hunting needs, I'd recommend the Center-Point line of scopes from Wal-Mart. Not as great as the higher end stuff of course, but when in the field, they've proven good enough for my hunting purposes. Besides, if you ever drop it , trip over anything, etc, you won't be out a pay-checks worth of glass either!!! Happy Hunting, tjk
