I remember that article on the border patrol officer shooting the smuggler and I thought that was the biggest injustice of all. I still can't believe it! Heres a guy smuggling drugs, ends up getting shot, instead the officer is put into jail and the smuggler doesn't even get charged...but did file a lawsuit if memory serves me correctly....arrrgghh. After seeing things like that I have faltering hope about our future in general. It seems that we are eroding from the inside. We worry about this country, or that country having this weapon or that weapon, and though it is a concern, truth be told, we are beating ourselves, IMHO. We are destroying this country from the inside with all of the, can't spank your kids, multimillion dollar lawsuits filed against companies by people who lack common sense (McDonalds coffee incident comes to mind), don't say the word "Christmas" BS , etc, etc. As I see it we've become "victims" of our successes, freedoms, and wealth. We no longer truly appreciate or are thankful for what we have. We've become complacent, greedy and lazy in that we expect more without having to put out for it. This is where the illegal aliens are flourishing. They come to this country with nothing and are willing to work HARD for money. They do appreciate what they can get here but we've all taken it all for granted because we've had it for so long and becomed accustomed to it. I have a bunch of younger guys working at my place of employment and it is unbelievable the mentality of the majority of them. Typically they want everything now, most see themselves as great workers when in fact they can't hold a candle to what guys did 15 or 20 years ago! We are becoming a nation of truly "spoiled rich kids" and that is a big problem. And not to be hypocritical, I see it in myself as well. I had just bought one air rifle, then about a month later I'm buying yet another one. Still, a month after that and I'm looking at another one! In some other counrties this wouldn't be possible, but here, it's made all too easy. It's funny, I was talking to one of my fellow worker about this very subject the other day and he said "what we probably need is another stock market crash like the great depression. Then the "entitled generation" will know what it's like to do without. That would re-set the needle back to zero". Now there is something to think about. No, I don't want to ever see that happen, but it is arguably a, albeit an extreme, solution to what ails us right now.
I'm getting off of my soapbox now, sorry to have rambled on like that. I guess if I didn't love this country so much, it wouldn't bother me as much either......but I do, and it does!!!
As for the guy who likes to show himself to little kids? I have a quick and inexpensive solution for him, or anyone like him. It won't involve deportation, or the courts, or anything else. And I will guarantee that it will not happen again!! I'm sure you all could figure it out!
