Gamo Red Fire pellets
« on: June 30, 2009, 01:44:28 PM »
Anybody try these pellets?  they look like predator knock offs.  I saw them in Dick's sporting goods and was going to give them a shot.  lol  "shot"

I was wandering the same thing actually. The reviews give then a 4 or 5 out of 5.. They look just like a nockoff of a predator,, same weight I think even... Though they are not much of a nock off in price,,, only $1.75 difference last I checked

Yea. the only difference I see by looking at them is the Predators have a thinner shell, and also are longer than those gamos.  Also the preds cost more.  btw I gotta post up my Body count/put some more threads in hunting.  the other night I dropped 7 blackbirds/grackles in about 30 minutes.  Haha the dead birds were like decoys!!

There is a difference in the way the pellet flare's out on the pred's vs the Fire T's but I'm looking to get a tin myself to do some testing. :) Ed

I just grabbed a tin to try out. I can get 150 of them for $10, or 200 preds for $15. I'd like to try them out on some meat and see if they can compete with the preds. They are a bit cheaper, but they don't look as clean as the preds. Tip to tip they are approximately the same height. The Red fire's tip is longer then the pred's though. We'll see if they group well with Betsy. Fed-ex says that she will be home tomorrow ^^

If you are looking for more of a balance between price and effectiveness, this might be it.

ive tried both, the gamo's do shoot well. But I think the preds. are defiantly of a slightly higher quality. The gamo's remind me more of a re nosed rocket than the pred.. That being said I think that the .177 rocket is one of the best pellets going defiantly under rated , I picked up some in .22 we will see if they offer the same lvl of performance.

Heya Jeff, Let me be the first to welcome you to the GTA. Feel free to introduce yourself if you'd like. (perhaps in a new post in the Air gun gate.) This place is truly a "Great Place to be."
