I have the TF99 in .22 and have been thinking about chopping the barrel and cocking lever, just cuz. I also want to adapt a synthetic seal to it.

I like you pic'c , & the heftyness is ok with me helps hold on target.
I just put the TF 4X32 from Compasseco & it's a tad much long !

I see you'ved used a shorty scope ?
looks like that one works better , I'll shoot this one in the morring &see if it's in the way too much?& then make a choose of Iron or scope, I've got a 4X32 Simmons & it's 11 1/4 long so about a 1" shorter! The Simmons is on the Quest 1000 & so that would not make any change for it! & may help on th TF97?The TF scope is a cheep one? It looks just like the centerpoint that came on the Quest1000.
The Centerpoint would not stay on target or zero it would move about every 5-10 shots' & have to redial !
I've got theTF scope it backed up as far as it will go & it still covers the loading about 1/2" or so.

Sure you wouldn't rather trade for a TF97? I've got a bunch of pellets through mine, but it is certainly in good condition and pretty darn accurate. It is a .177, and I'd be glad to have a .22

Ront, Thats why I offered the trade. He might not even want to chop a TF97...and then we'd both be in a better place.

Heck, I may just sell the TF99 here on the forum. I've kinda got more than I can shoot. Not that I don't like it. It shoulders well, cocks smoothly, and shoots well.

NO I'm a TF97 believer!
« Reply #24 on: November 13, 2009, 05:12:01 PM »
I got mine for the unbelievable price of $54.  It was a mid summer when Compasseco had the old style on sale.  Like others have said:

1)  extremely easy to cock
2)  exceptionally accurate inside 25 yards.  seriously single hole stuff.
3)  nice hefty weight helps with accuracy
4)  not hold sensitive at all
5)  really heavy and rough direct sear trigger.  not much you can do but stone it
6)  loves the TF domed pellets

Mine is .22 and I keep thinking I should sell it but then I shoot it and decide I can't sell it.  I was hitting Gamo Squirrel KZ automatic with mine at 20 yards.  Phenominal!  I put the Leapers Bug Buster 5-9x32.  Fits perfectly even with the sunshade installed.

Oh, I forgot to remark that when I took it apart to lube tune it I was surprised at how LOOOONG that spring is.  I was also surprised at how many pins the trigger group has.  You would think something that complex would be way smoother!!!
