Question to Evanix Blizzard owners???
« on: July 09, 2009, 03:29:56 AM »
My Evanix blizzard seems to pull up when shot. Is this normal? I am having a hard time grouping on the longer shots. I shot 50 to 60 rounds last night at a 50 yd target and oly hit the 2" metal swinger twice. Earlier at a 15 yd target after sighting in I was grouping 1/2 ". I have been using gamo pointed 15.1 gr pellets because that is what I have.

Second question. I seem to have and issue with the pellets sliding back in the magazine and catchingon the reciever and jamming. Is there one pellet that works better than another??

First thing you need to do, Al, is toss those pointed pellets in the trash where they belong :-).  I've NEVER had good results with any pointed pellet in any gun.  And that any runs the gamut from low powered springers to high powered PCP's.  I don't have a Blizzard, but from what I've been able to gather, it's a hammer, so concentrate on the heaviest pellets you can get, either Kodiaks or Eun Jins.  Part of the problem is probably just too much velocity with the lighter pellets.  Don't know what to say about your magazine issue, maybe Joe Cuz can help out there.  Good luck.

That's very good advice you've been given. Dump those pointed pellets and get a selection of good domed pellets to try in your Blizzard, JSB Exacts, Crossman Premiers, RWS SuperDomes, etc.
The current stable, (arsenal, quiver?): BSA Lightning XL .177, BSA Sportsman HV .22, BSA Ultra .177, CZ634 .177, Daystate Harrier X .177, TAU 200 Senior .177, HW 97 .177, HW 50s .177, HW 30 .177, RWS 92 .177, Gamo 126 MC Super, Gamo Big Cat .177, AR2078A, QB78 .177, Quest 1000 .177, Beeman SS650 .177., Beeman P17 .177.

Al,I have the Blizzard & have no problem shooting accurate,I sighted my gun in with CPs & at 50 yards I can shoot dandelions all day! The Blizzard is an extremely powerfull gun putting out close to 50ft. lbs. I will tell you the samething as Dave & Stephanie, get rid of those junk pellets,I never tried any other pellets with my Blizzard because of the excellent results I get from the CPs,You should try some of the Eun Jins,I believe they come in both 28gr & 34gr. Beeman Kodiaks 21 gr. I am sure will do very well also! That gun is a true tact-driver!

Have you had the problem where the pellets slip back and jam on the reciever?

It has seemed to happen with all pellet types in both of my clips.

I'll try the Eun Jin 32's again
