Just got a nice Beeman Sportsman RS 2

It came late yesterday by the big brown truck, Since I've I recrowned both barrels as well as choking them and re adjusted the trigger to a nice light trigger then I set up one of the barrels and sighted it in with the iron sights to where it makes one ragged hole, then I put the other barrel on and adjusted the barrel so it would fire in the same place the other barrel was hitting now I can switch barrels and not have to readjust the sights  all over , it hit's the same place with either barrel , nice gun not hard to cock and the firing cycle is not a harsh as the TF89 I had it's a much nicer gun, It came with a nice scope and a neat case that holds both barrels , scope, and the main rifle part. I have the SS1000 .177 with the scope combo and it's really the one that got me back into airgunning seriously. It is a killer and I have never done a thing to it, except zero and shoot (been meaning to come back to it, but you know how that goes). I think they are better-appreciated on this forum than others. They are a very good value.

I consider selling it now and then, but I wouldn't get that much, and then I wouldn't have it any more!

That's a nice shooter the only thing that I have read  bag was that when changing barrels you have to sight the gun all over and that makes sense  since no 2 barrels are the same maybe a little difference in boreing the barrel or how it was stored before shipping you know a little bend can make a bit difference it how it shoots,But I adjusted the barrels to shoot in the same place so it becomes a really great idea, to bad this wasn't done at the factory before shipping . Howard,  I have the same RS-2 rifle that you have.   Have had it since 1/09, and have been satisfied with it since day one.   I fitted it with the .22 barrel and have left it on the entire time.  I was surprised by the power that it has.  I had been using a .177 AG and there was no comparison in the power dept.  Plan to some day purchase either a R-9 or R-1 , maybe this fall.    Using RWS and Benjamin pellets  in the 14. grain area at this time and they print to the same POI.  The strange thing about the RS-2 that I use is that after it was fired the lubes that were used smelled like candles being burned, or bacon or something.    If the gun was not functioning so well I would take it down and re-lube the innards with some domestic lubes.

Before you buy a R9 check with Mike M on his b26's I have one of his B26's and they are a great rifle The one I got has a Tyrolean type stock and man is it nice take a look at the picture. Of course I did the stock but the rifle is by Mike and it is a super shooter and it has a Record trigger too.  howie

I have an RS2 also. I'm impressed with it's power and accuracy and it seem's to be well made.

I'd like to know just how you "adjusted" the second barrel. Have you actually switched the barrels back to verify the same zero? This is the main point that has kept me from going for the switch barrel model. If I gotta rezero every time I change, I might as well have 2 rifles and not have to change anything.

What I did on mine was sight it in with the 22 and knowing that the 177 shoots with higher velocity it would shoot higher I place target one mildot @ 15 yrds where I got the 22 sighted. The top post did the 2nd barrel zeroed using open sight. This dual caliber sure beats carrying two air rifles. I use 22 for fur and 177 for feathers and paper.

You do the same thing that you will or a gunsmith will do with a rifle that is off , bend the barrel then go back to the original barrel and see if it is on target then go back to check again both barrels need to be hitting the same spot so you can change barrels and be on target,  their is a how to  do this under our Library see CDT Barrel Droop Tool it's on the left side of the page down a little  ways. I used a vise after padding the barrels we don't want any marks on finished blued steel do we. It works the same their are a lot of ways to get this done. Timmyj195 has a jig he made to do the same thing he put in up I think on the shop gate not too long ago. howie
