new rws 34 shot
« on: February 11, 2007, 06:02:00 AM »
Hi everyone!I received my new RWS 34 a few days ago.I can't believe the difference in it and my Shadow 1000.It's like night and day.The 34 is more powerful, accurate and fun to shoot.Anyway,I shot a pigeon this morning from about 40 feet, but only winged it.It flew away and landed on the roof of an unoccupied house 3 doors down.I could see it hopping around on the peak of the roof, and being fairly new to airguns,I wasn't sure that I could hit it from my yard, but thought I would try so as to put it out of it's misery. After proping my gun up on the roof of my car,I fired and watched as feathers flew up and the bird rolled down and off the roof! With the lots in my neighborhood being 50 feet wide, that's a 150 foot kill.My elderly neighbor watched my shot and said that he was very impressed with the power of the gun compared to ones when he was younger. So anyway, with my first kill being from 50 yards and the power and  accuracy of this gun,I am sold with my RWS 34 and can't wait to go squirrel and rabbit hunting with my son.

That's some good shooting Big Ken.

I'm glad you were able to finish off the bird.

All this RWS 34 talk is making me think about them.  Not a good thing....hehehe.

Hey there!Like I said,I don't have a whole lot of experience with airguns, but the 34 is a beautiful gun and in my opinion makes my Shadow 1000 look cheap.I'm definitely a believer and am already looking for another RWS as a "companion" for my 34,maybe something in .22 caliber.

Hello All,

I just love my model 34 Panther. I haven't got to shoot it much because of the bad weather. If it continues to shoot like it is it could be on it's way to becoming my favorite rifle. It is balanced so well, it is a real pleasure to hold. I can't leave it alone. I love to hold it.

Hey Rabbit,

Do you have it in .177 or .22?  I've been looking at that rifle since it came out, I just really like how it looks, and have been thinking about ordering one in .22 one of these days.  Have you chrony'd it yet, if so what kind of FPS are you getting?  I am saving up for another rifle purchase in the near future and the panther might be one I'd consider hitting the "order" button on.

Jeff,

My Panther is in .177 cal. I just love the feel of the rifle. I don't have a chrony, but it shoots as hard as any of my other rifles. It is deadly accurate. I will be glad to see the weather improve so I can do some more shooting. I have a couple of rifles that I need to find the right pellet for. The model 34 Panther is such a pleasure to hold I just can't leave it alone. It is a great rifle.  Best of luck...

Thanks Rabbit,,,,, I'm either going to buy another B26-2 (.177 this time) or a Panther (probably .22) as soon as I have the cash in my hands.  I wish I could buy both, but I'm flirting with danger just buying one (if the Mrs. finds out).

Anyway, thanks again,,, enjoy that fine lookin rifle.

Oh yes the Panther... hehe  As I have said before, I have had my eye on that one fora while and now wish I had bought it from Midsouth when they had them cheap... It would have to some difference against any of my S1K's to get a good review though..:) But I like the look and have read quite a few good posts about it.

Hey everyone! This may sound dopey, but when I first got my rws 34 and looked through the sights,I was estatic. You see,I like to play alot of first person shooter games on my Playstation 2,such as Call of Duty,Medal of Honor and Brothers in Arms.Out of all the available allied and axis guns at your disposal, the German KAR98 has always been my favorite. And the sights on that gun are just like the 34's sights. They are very accurate and I haven't even considered a scope. It makes shooting little army men from 50 feet a joy.Just thought I'd share that.Ken
