I can do 10 shot strings that will give you high, low, average, standard deviation and extreme spread...usefull info for making a 'range card" for your rifle...

Sounds great Rich.  I was doing some reading on the HW97 and several people commented that it may need as many as 500-1000 shots through it before all the various lubricants settle in and/or are burned off.  Some experienced owners said they are overlubed at the factory and it takes time.  I'm considering breaking it down and doing a re-lube....or I could just be patient :-)

...true about break-in...at least 500 shots anyway...I did not notice your rifle "dieseling" as they often do when new.???..and they typically smooth out the more you shoot them...

I believe your HW97 is very accurate...trick is taking time to find pellets that give you best results....the JSB's have softer skirts than the Crosman CPL's and will expand tighter in bore when shot...be sure to compare those two pellets...

Thanks for the pellet advice.  I think I'm either going to pick up a sampler from AoA of various .20 cal pellets or get a tin each of:

Crosman CPLs (might have to order a huge box though)
Beeman FTS
JSB Exact

I think one of those 3 should be the best for the HW97.

We tested rifle off a precision rest....wanted to eliminate as many "shooter" errors as possible for determining accuracy...think the rest we used cost more than my rifle....LOL...
