How to properly Dissassemble Gamo,Viper ???????
« on: July 21, 2009, 10:18:43 AM »
Hey Guys, I hope My title did not sound like I am gonna give instructions,I myself am looking for some guidance. I have had many airguns, and do a lot of gunsmithing on firearms, but I am a newcomer to tuning a airgun. First let Me explain what I  have and what I have done so far. I have a Gamo,Viper. I have installed the GRT111 trigger and have polished the bore with bore polish. Also have mounted a NC Star scope. What I want to do is disassemble the receiver as I call it, and  deburr the inners, check tolerances and maybe upgrade to a better spring. As You can tell by My wording I know little about what is exactly inside the receiver, but I do know the basic design and function. I work on industrial Equip. for a living so I can decipher schematics very well, I do know that those are available for most Gamo rifles. But there are some important things that diagrams dont usually tell you. Like what to expect when ya are removing a powerful spring. I just need some pointers on what not to do mostly and what to expect. And any tips on how to make my gun last longer, more accurate, less recoil and twang ETC. would be so appreciated. I do not intend on doing any highly skilled modifications just want to polish a little more smoothness outta these guns. By the way My ten year old son has the same Gamo rifle and more than anything I just want another little project We can do together, but I sure dont want to screw up perfectly good airguns. I showed Him some stuff on this site and it was all over,He,s one of us, You know, how does it work and how can I make it go faster. HA HA !!! We  know that none of this is based on getting more velocity, but rather just finishing on what Gamo left off on. Any good advise would be so cool. Thanks for listening. AKJC 1977

The first one is a Microsoft document. You need MS Word to view it. The second one is in PDF format and you need Adobe Reader for that. It is free on the internet.
