maybe you guys can clarify...
« on: July 25, 2009, 02:00:19 AM »
I have a B3 that resembles an AK47 (more like a type 81, but that is semantics...). I have seen it listed as a b3-1, but then i have also seen the underlever listed as the b3-1... and then again the so called "fast deer" has also been refered to as the b3-1... i am confused. is there a name or model number that refers to this little rifle alone? Also, i have gone thru mine and sanded down the wood. it is both good looking and it shoots decently. Has anyone else modified or done up theirs? got any pics? any idea about extending the rear folding stock? do you prefer the .22 or the.177 in this particular rifle? any help is much appreciated...

Gabe, I've got one in each caliber and love em both.  I haven't really done much to mine except clean up, tinker with them a bit and put em back together.  Both of em shoot great.  I've used both to take backyard critters and small game.  The .177 is my bird gun,,, the .22 I like better for the tree rats at close range.

I've thought about ordering the stock extension that "Archers" sells, but just never got around to it........  I may do that soon though now that I'm thinking about it again  :)

I have one in .22.. It is known as XS-B3-1. Some refer to them as a AK.. Darn dandy rifle and accurate.  The Fast Deer does look like them with a wood stock, known as the KL-B3. Both with the side lever. The prior will not fit the Fast Deer stock, that is, drop in. Frank

I think you are describing XS-B3-1.

Is that it? I have a .22 that I like. I am not happy with my trigger work yet, but the consistency has been good since a lube and hone. They are fun and reasonably well-made.

by the way... i got a old style one, and it needed some severe cleaning and going over. The otehr day i saw that Cobra had order new ones  thru BAM and let me tell you... they are way nicer now. better seals, better bluing, smoother trigger (still horrible though...) but i chronied a .22 with run of yhe mill daisy wadcutters (14.3 gr) and it shot consistenly at 550 fps!!! they are really cool little rifles but i am still partial to the .177. Great bird gun, jeff... great bird gun...

the Fast Deer is not a b3-1 or labeled as such...KL3b is the FD, the b3-1 can be either of the others the under lever is also called just a b-3

Yes it is a KL-3B... In my earlier post I turned that around and almost did it again...  Frank
