I feel pathetic
« on: July 25, 2009, 03:00:40 AM »
I feel pathetic , 1000's of dollars in equipment with more on the way countless hours practicing. And I have to resort to trapping my nemesis The garden raider GROUND HOG. This week I had a tomato (first one of the season) starting to ripen ,and with no sighs of my enemy I said to my self Ill let this one ripen one more day. I come home from work the other day and went straight to the garden to check on my first tomato and MF its gone MF MF MF I was so pi$$ed off I was thinking of getting out the rototiller and doing away with the garden. But I did not, got the shovel and filled in the hole. Came home from work yesterday and the MF had time to dig 2 holes under the fence. So I just got a trap , That MF has all the time advantage on his side and I cant stand loosing to a rodent    :0  :0  :0  :0  :0

Well, the marauding fur-bearer (MF)  may need a Marauder air rifle to be dispatched properly and efficiently, but I see you already thought of that.  So, don't feel bad.  Just keep ordering more air rifles.  You will get the marauding fur-bearers eventually, along with a nice collection of air rifles.  And when you feel yourself getting down again, repeat the mantra:

Airrrrrrrrrrr gunzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .  etc.

Don't feel bad, in the 3-4 years that I've been airgunning the only critters I've killed have been with my car,...oh yea, shot at some ants that crawled across my targets too:)

I have a particular Rat that is my nemesis. Mommy is enjoying the Rat That Is Smarter Than Me. This little plague-bearer has almost run over my foot 2-3 times on the back porch- in the early morning hours- while I sit smoking with a loaded safety-off P3 in my hand. It is there and gone like a ghost. I hate it. I hate all rats, but I hate this one most of all. When your g'hog runs past you at 1m distance, 3 times, and lives to laugh about it, then you can feel pathetic. I finally put out a Victor trap with peanut butter, which never fails, but it an admission of defeat... it sprang the trap and ate the pb. I am going to so kill this SOB someday...

Hang in there and don't give up. Last year I didn't get one tomato the G hogs cleaned me out. Thats when the war started, a dozen hogs later there aint too many around any more. I'm glad to say tomatos are doing fine.  Skip-
