What the bugs see
« on: July 27, 2009, 06:40:13 AM »
We were away a few weeks back for 4 days and thought I would share. I am proud of my kids and there marksmanship after shooting at air rifle dartboard , steel targets and full mountain dew cans for awhile they discovered that this with the hot sun attracted insects :)  they diverted to nailing bugs, bumblebees and wasps and hitting them with alarming frequency ! If the bug landed/paused that was it:) Excellent training I thought, so I tried it also ...and will say its not that easy, of course I told the kids I was leaving all the easy one for them LOL. I've been doing the same thing all morning!  The Cicada's have been landing on the wood backstop that I use when shooting in the front yard so when they've landed I've been chopping em' in half!  The bugs are a FINE tool for improving shooting technique...   and they sometimes act as moving targets!

Thanks for sharing!  Looks like the kids had a wonderful time out there!
