How long can a springer be left cocked?
« on: August 02, 2009, 03:53:44 PM »
I know its not good to leave a springer cocked for long periods. So is there any amount a time I can leave my springer cocked without damaging the spring (ie 5-10 minutes even)? Or can a springer not be left cocked for any amount of time before firing? I'm curious to know for hunting purposes.

You can easily leave it cocked for 15-20 minutes without worry.

Whatshisname at Pyramid Air had an article on this quite awhile ago, - you "might" be able to find it there.

Take a look at this. I'm not sure where I found it, but I think you'll find it good reading.
