Good plan. If your only contact options are EM and PM, these are almost the only options available. You could do the mail fraud thing but that is really tough, since they can't quantify your trade values.
You must have some shipping info if you sent the rifle? Certified letter is next. Great, you get to pay for that too, but it's the only next step if Lazy won't respond. All documentation is important including electronic and paper receipts.
Y'know, there are a lot of reasons for failing to ship a trade that are good and valid, including just being busy. But failing to communicate them is pretty inexcusable. If you are going to be climbing Mt. Everest and out of cell range for a while, best to wrap up unfinished business before leaving for Tibet.
I think anyone can understand a delay, but it is very hard to understand no return (much less proactive) info. You can go to a library and send an update if your email is down.
It is a heck of an obligation to receive another man's rifle and give only silence in return. If this drags on, let heaven ring with that party's name. I would want to know. I don't think a personal visit is necessarily safe (that's what OJ supposedly did) but it would be nice if the other party knows that's an option.
